I read some of the reviews claiming they are incorrectly sized, how accurate is the sizing?

I ordered 3 (16,18,20mm) and all were checked with calipers and all are correct sizes. but that's one order, can't speak for any future order or your order. I bought another 3 (5,6,8mm) so well see if those are correct upon arrival.

Why do these need to to be pushed in from the back of the ear? What’s the difference?

You can also put from front to back of your ear but it's hard to screw in the another flare part.
