Review: An excellent ballpoint pen in both blue and black - Note: All of my reviews are written 100% by me, not AI generated. I continue to come back to these pens in both blue and black over and over. They are light, comfortable to hold, and write clearly from the first try. For me, the 1.0 point is perfect as I prefer a more solid line when writing so I haven’t tried the other sizes. I use these pens to write on almost any surface including washi tape in my journal. They also write really well on shiny surfaces like the back of a greeting card. The only thing I have found them to be hit or miss on is PET tape and transparent plastic tape from my label maker. However, I don’t really expect them to write on that kind of tape, so it doesn’t bother me. I was a long-time Bic ballpoint pen user but was given one of these at work, and I fully converted almost immediately. Also I find the price on desertcart, especially on Subscribe and Save, to be the best I’ve found. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy using a ballpoint pen for your day to day writing!
Review: Great ink + smooth writing for the fastest drying time and cheapest price! - I have finally found my favorite pens for serving! I love pens. I am obsessed with them and I try everything. But while it's easy to find the nicest thickest ink pens, the ones I use when I'm home, and judge those...it's arguably much harder to find the "best cheap pen." I mean, a good ballpoint pen is hard to find, period! That's why I only use them when I have to. I have had a consistent issue when it comes to my job as a server in a restaurant. The pens that write nice and thick and smoothly (which they need to as I have <5 seconds to write down everything my guest is saying) then transfer ink onto my hands and onto my receipts and everything else in my book once I shut it. Still, I would rather take some messy ink transfer than be struggling to get out any ink in the first place and cramp up my hand from having to use so much pressure at a hard angle (as required by other ballpoint pens). This is why I have just been using nicer ballpoint pens and doing my best to mitigate the mess. Bottomline: I need ink to come out fast and dry fast and it's been a struggle Until I just happened upon one of these...and immediately rushed to order more! This is legitimately the first pen I have found that writes and produces ink as well as it does while simultaneously drying as fast as it does and therefore transferring ink as little as it does. While I don't know if I'll ever find a perfect balance, these pens are my new favorite. They last pretty well, especially for the price. They are very comfortable to hold and use - balancing weight, width, and size well. The biggest standout again, is how quickly they dry. I would be paying a lot more for these if I had to! My main complaint is that the bottom tip unscrews. Something that of course most pens can do (and something that is a problem for some pens more than others). I haven't had one burst or fall apart; it's only as I'm writing the tip starts to unscrew and fall down and I have to quickly screw it back into place so it keeps working/producing ink. This happens a lot more when I'm using these pens vs. others. I would almost prefer them to dry out quicker vs. coming apart so quickly! I am putting them under a lot of stress though, as you can imagine. I don't think they would cause me nearly as much trouble otherwise.

**Q: are they ok for writing checks**
A: So far every check I have written with these pens has bounced. That’s not really an indictment of the pen but more the fact that I’m broke. Thank you Brandon!

**Q: I am looking for the old style ballpoint pen, not a rollerball.  are these pens the old fashioned ballpoint style or the roller ball style?**
A: Thanks for your question. It's the new style. I'm kinda like you I wish a lot of things were like they used to be. I use them they the rubber feel and are really light. But remember if you did want to take a chance and try them out and if for some reason you don't like them you can return them with no questions asked. **Q: Does this pen have a fast drying "gel" ink?**
A: Hi David, these Z-Grips are ballpoint pens and do not contain gel ink. If you're looking for a gel pen, I would recommend our Sarasa gel pens that DO contain fast drying ink that's tested by an independent 3rd party lab to be faster or as fast as the competition.

**Q: Is the pressure that is required to use this pen the same as the regular Zebra Sarasa 1.0mm? I had a hand injury and need to apply little pressure.**
A: Not familiar with the Sarasa 1.0mm. The Z-grip pens require a normal amount of pressure.  I do a lot of writing and the pressure doesn't bother me, but I've not had a hand injury so I can't speak to that.  To go with less pressure I'd think you need a gel based pen like the pilot G-2 pen.  I love the G-2's as well but it's a lot thicker line, which may not always be convenient.
