Solid Gold Indoor Wet Cat Food, Chicken Pate, Grain Free, Adult Cats, 24ct

My son adopted a sweet little kitten and we wanted to give him the very best nutrition possible. Solid Gold is a reputable brand and I have used their dry food in the past with one of our dogs that had certain dietary restrictions. We always had a favorable opinion of the company so we decided to order this wet food for our newest addition. Kitty took to the food right away and didn’t need any outside motivation. It has a good, fresh and meaty scent similar to human food. The smooth pate is easy for kitty to eat and as he grows bigger, we’ll probably get some different flavors for him to try. For now, the chicken pate formula is gentle on his digestive system and a nutritious food that he enjoys while getting acclimated to his new home. The small cans are perfect for growing kittens and he’s able to eat a full can twice a day in addition to dry food that we keep available for him at all times. It’s pricier than many other foods available, but the highest quality ingredients are important to us. We want him to have a good healthy start, and this is part of his well balanced diet plan.

High quality. Good moisture. Vet likes it. But for enough protein I’m currently also feeing grain-free blue buffalo indoor cat chicken formula because my cat was itchy on solid gold dry. Its my current compromise since my cat wont eat the super high quality frozen formulas that come in dry ice. So i have to get the mousture content ine place and the high protein in the other to meet the needs of both cat kidneys and the protein needs! Cats have kidneys designed to work best and longest when 80% of their water comes from their food rather than from water drinking. Some of the rarest mammalian kidneys on the planet. But also have high protein needs

I have been buying this food for my cat for 4 or 5 years now. I originally got it at PetCo, but I had to switch to Amazon because PetCo stopped carrying it. I choose this food because I try to be a conscientious caretaker for my cat and because the flavor--Salmon and Coconut Oil--is her favorite. She's always loved the food, and I'm more than happy to provide it for her. However, I just received my Auto-Ship delivery and it contained a broken can that I am going to have to discard. I tried to go through Amazon's refund process, but I was told that the item is not eligible for a refund. I am somewhat disgruntled about this. It's not typical to receive a damaged item from a business and not have the item replaced for a non-damaged one, and this item is one of the bigger recurring expenses in my life. TL;DR: Food is great quality, but I got a damaged can in my most recent shipment and there's no clear avenue for me to get the damaged item replaced.

About the only thing my cat eats now. She has some dry food that she also eats but she loves the sweat food.

I don't know what changed in the new rebrand, but the quality of the food has vastly dropped. What used to be an almost solid can of pate with easy give is now a sloppy soupy mess in the can. The ingredients also list tuna as one of the main ingredients, which is tremendously confusing for a product that advertises itself as a chicken meal. Sad to let this product go, but the fact that it's now manufactured overseas in Thailand leads me to believe that it's no longer worth it. Especially for this more expensive and inferior new product. The only reason I give it 2 stars is that it is canned well, and that's about it.
