Sony UBP-X700 MULTIREGION Blu-ray Player Bundle with Ghostbusters Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray Disc

I'm so glad I ordered this player. The primary reason was to play several region A discs I have upto now been unable to watch. I went for the 4k version with upscaling as I plan to get a 4k tv when my current 1 breaks. Also I couldn't find this cheaper anywhere else so the fact in came with a free 4k bluray and there was over 40 titles to choose from sealed the deal for me. I haven't tried all the features properly yet I just did the quick set up to test the region changed as it should and i used a 4k hdmi cable to connect it to my HD tv and the picture quality is definitely upscaled and it is really quiet in operation too, alot quieter than my older 1 so I'm really happy with my purchase. I did panic abit when I opened the box as the back of the player has a B in a circle on it so I thought they'd sent me a region B player by mistake but it works fine on all regions so don't worry if you recieve 1 with a B on the back and don't panic it will be multi region.

Great 4k player so far. 4K blu ray disc are normally worldwide region, however, DVD and blu rays are region locked unless you have a pre- modified player as with this 4K player which was modified by the seller. For the user like myself, it was an easy set-up and the additional multi region modification is worth the money. The Blu-ray is set to region A by default. However, the Seller enclosed instructions on how to select the regions by using coloured coded buttons on the remote control. Green button is for region B for UK and Europe in my case. The DVD region selection is automatic. The only minor gripe i have is Sony's remote control buttons layout and the buttons themselves are wee bit on the small side despite I have small hands. Couldn't care for the Netflix button and wished it was a YouTube button instead. Albeit this, the finger placement cut-out on the backside of the remote is ergonomically welcomed. All in all, this 4k player is working well for what i intend to use it for - playing UHD and blu ray discs. :)

Needed a Blu-Ray and DVD player that played multiregion discs and was very pleased with this! Really simple and easy to use, never had one before and was surprised it came with streaming apps too, this may change based on region but as someone located in Ireland I have access to YouTube, Netflix and Spotify which is a really nice bonus. The player and apps all update as normal, and it comes with an included remote control which is great. I would recommend this player if you plan on buying Blu-Rays or DVDs from any and all regions in the world!

I was initially apprehensive at purchasing this player but can now see it is worth every penny. It plays UHD discs perfectly and the quality is amazing, the same with blu rays and the region selection is easily chosen from the remote control, instructions are clearly provided. The only slight drawback is upon testing a dvd the player tended to display a black screen for one second every now and again, hoping this can be sorted if I play around with the settings a bit but doesn’t outweigh the overall benefits of the player.Update - I appear to have fixed the issue - ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the TV and the player and then go into your TV settings and go to ‘External Device Manager’, turn ‘Input Signal Plus’ off for the HDMI that the player is connected to. This fix worked for me and I can now play DVDs with no interruption or black screen.

Sony’s popular 4K blu-ray player, (multi-region should you want it), is a very good player that is user friendly, smart looking and packed with features. I can’t comment on the smart features as I didn’t buy it for that, but as a spinner of discs I really (for the price) can’t fault it. Great picture and sound quality, easy to use but with a fiddly remote.My only negative is the size - small, doesn’t match other full-sized hi-fi components, - and it is rather lightweight and plasticky and doesn’t have a display on the fascia, but I’m sure that won’t affect most people’s decision to buy.Highly recommended.

Speedy delivery, well packaged and comes with extended 2 year warranty. Picture and sound quality are excellent. Comes preset to region A so all my discs play without resetting area code (most region B discs are not locked so will play in any player). Remote a bit sparse but got the basic controls you need. Time will tell on reliability.

Excellent player and added bonus of SACD compatable & Digital audio output.Picture on my 65" Toshiba TV and digital sound is amazing plus 4K online streaming.Plays pretty much anything you can throw at it.
