What is maximum time between coats

I believe that there is no precise maximum time limit so far as the second coat bonding on the first, but, in my experience roofs and especially flat roofs get dirty quickly so the second coat's adherence will be limited by the dirt and debris that quickly accumulates. Additionally, the reason for two moderately thin coats rather than one thick coat is partly so that the second coat will fill any "holidays" (empty spots) left over from the first. If the second coat is more than 1 week max after the first then I would recommend thoroughly cleaning the roof and essentially starting over.

No I believe it is meant for roofs only

Does this require a top coat or can the 2 coats be sufficient?

For best performance, proper millage, and manufacturer warranty, two coats of Gaco Roof is required, not a separate or different topcoat. Each coat should not exceed 100 square feet per gallon. Many substrates, such as modified, will yield less coverage due to its porosity. We've seen as low as 75sq.ft. per gallon.
