This capacitor matched the specifications exactly and worked perfectly as a replacement for our 33-year-old Carrier furnace. Installation was straightforward — the terminals fit tightly, and the size matched the original component, so it mounted easily without modification. The build quality feels solid, with a sturdy aluminum casing and clean, well-fitted connectors. After installation, the furnace fan started running smoothly again, and the capacitor tested precisely on spec with a multimeter. It runs cool and stable even during extended operation. On our annual HVAC Maintenance Inspection the tech discovered that the pictured original blower motor starter capacitor in our 15 year old HVAC unit had dropped from its rated 10 uF to 7 uF. While a reputable HVAC contractor, he still quoted $290 to do it. I ordered this $11 unit from Amazon, got it 2 days later, and on the next relatively warm day replaced the old one in about 15 minutes. It was mounted on the blower itself, came out by unscrewing the screw on the right side of the metal strap, and disconnecting the 3 crimp lugged wires. Make sure you turn off all power and short across the capacitor terminals before touching anything! Also make sure you get the wires back on the same terminals or your blower won't run. Details! Works fine and don't have to worry about this part crapping out in below zero or above 100 degree weather. Or anything in between.

I ordered two one is reading 9.96 and another 9.8 a bit low in my opinion.

Installed October 21, 2025. It now reads 8.53uF instead of 10uF. When it worked, it worked. It now causes my blower motor to turn slow enough that my evaporator coil freezes, causing failure of the air conditioner. The capacitor that it replaced worked from 2019, making this one a poor value for lasting less than 8 months. Admittedly, it was convenient to be able to use as a quick replacement that fit the same as the original.
