S.O.S. Rations Emergency 3600 Calorie Food Bar - 3 Day / 72 Hour Package with 5 Year Shelf Life 2 pack (with Jeff Brown's tips)

Was looking for a high calorie food bar to pack in my GHB.Comes nicely packed with 9 bars/pack.I wanted to break it down into smaller packs so I decided to open it up the main package which is air/water tight.Each cookie is individually wrapped, however it is not air tight.Its a step up from someone wrapping it with plastic wrap I would say.Busted out my foodsaver and packed them in 2's.Decided to eat the odd one out and was overall happy with the taste.Tasted like a shortbread cookie pretty much. Did not make me any more thirsty than I already was.Wasn't excited to see the ingredients but I bought these for emergency situations so its not like I'm eating these when I'm bored.Will update in a few hours, seeing how my stomach/body handles the bar.Will definitely order more of these in the future.

Amazingly fast delivery, packaged extremely well and it weighed a lot more than I thought. We were going to save it for our camping/hiking trips as these are the perfect calorie bars to have.. We couldn't wait and had to rip into one package to try them out and they are really good!!! I like the fact that all the nutritional information is on every package so you know exactly what's inside and what you are all consuming. They hide NOTHING!!! Great job all the way around and I won't think twice about loading up on more, just to have for emergency use. Not a flaw in any aspect, if I could give more stars, I would.

Package contains nine individually wrapped bars. Each bar is wrapped in cellophane. Main package is sturdy vacuum packed plastic. Once the outer package is opened it cannot be resealed. Total package weight 1 3/4 pound. Kind of like a shortbread cookie; not hard to eat. Lots of sugar. I received my order in mid December 2016. Manufacturing date was October 2016. Stated shelf life is five years. I plan to carry one in each car. Would also make good trail food while hiking. 410 calories per bar, Carbs 54 g, Fat 18 g, Protein 6 g, Sugar 32 g. I did not receive any Tips & Tricks info as promised.

Haven't actually used the product yet (it's going into my family's emergency kit), but it came quickly and well packaged. The vacuum seal is clearly intact. The product was manufactured one month ago. Can't get too much fresher than that. And the little booklet was interesting. As someone who is not too well versed in prepping of any kind, I actually learned a few useful things from it and it piqued my interest to go out and find more detailed information.

Haven't tried them yet but everyone said they taste fine. And hunger makes the best seasoning so if the family ever needs food in an emergency I'm sure they will be fine. No guide was included which would have been nice since it was advertised.

These bars are very filling, taste much like a peanut butter cookie I keep some is my B.O.B and at home. I taste tested 2 for a day ,one for breakfast, one for lunch never got to the third because I was still full from first 2. My energy level through out the day was great and I had no desire to snack/eat anything else. would not want to live on them for weeks at a time but for an emergency situation I would recommend this. And I will be purchasing more soon.

Nice kit to have in an emergency bag or kit to keep in the car or bag. would be much better if it was a resealable bag because I know personally if im by myself i wont eat all at once and would like to keep them together in a bag so they dont go everywhere. But other then that it is a great emergency product.

I am ONLY giving this 4 stars since I haven't actually had to TRY the items yet (and hopefully won't need to either!). With all the storms hitting close to home, thought I'd better be prepared. They have, I believe, a 5 year shelf life (which is wonderful!) and were dated very close to the order date and not some date months again. VERY pleased with my purchase - 5 stars for the items/seller anyway!
