Renapur Suede, Nubuck, Fabric Waterproofing/Stain Protection — Eco-Friendly, Non-Toxic, for Shoes, Boots, Trainers & Clothing - Packaging May Vary

I can't recommend Renapur Suede, Nubuck & Fabric Waterproofing spray enough! I initially bought it a few weeks ago to protect a new pair of suede boots and a suede jacket. I was immediately impressed with how easy it was to apply and the incredible protection it provides. I've already bought 3 more bottles! Here's how I apply it for the best results: Spray liberally to soak the suede. Use a horsehair brush to work it into the material. Leave it to air dry for an hour or more. Apply a second coat, brush it in, and let it dry completely for a few hours. The suede dries back to its original colour – this product doesn't darken it at all. I've used it on cow suede, goat suede, and even deer suede with fantastic results. It's truly a must-have for anyone who wants to keep their suede items looking their best!

Firstly, for me, the product is eco-friendly. Also, with my absent-mindedly wearing honey-coloured boots on a rainy, dusty day at a music festival and at a club night where drinks were spilt over them. Having previously sprayed the boots with Renapur beforehand, I simply had to brush them gently with a suede and nubuck brush, wipe them down with a damp, soft cloth, and after they dried, they looked like new again. I also often use it on old jackets and rucksacks, and without noticeably affecting the feel of the material, the rainwater beads off.

This works really well and as it doesn’t take much product per pair of shoes, it’s great value too. I used this on all brand new shoes and boots. I did a mass session with boots, sandals and shoes and I’ve worn all of them (thanks British summer) and they all look as new, though the sandals haven’t been tested much (thanks British summer, not only constant rain but really cold too). My new navy Boden Chelsea boots did go slightly darker, but they were a wishy washy on the fence blue and they actually look better for it. They’re now a proper navy. They are a very thin suede though compared to the other items I used this product on. Other colours, including black, light green, tan and red were fine. Spray them outside if you can. The fumes aren’t terrible, but it’s always better to avoid breathing in chemicals. But with the caveat of a slight darkening to some boots, ensure you are prepared for this. But it’s an excellent product and I will respray the boots before autumn, though I’m tempted to do it now, (thanks British summer, what happened to July?) Repurchased for my mum. She’s impressed too.

I bought the Renapur Waterproofing and Stain Protection Spray to protect a large white fabric mouse mat. I was drawn to it because it's eco-friendly and non-toxic, which felt like a safe choice for something I use daily and keep on my desk. The application itself was straightforward. The spray produced a fine, even mist and dried quickly without altering the texture or colour of the fabric. I applied two to three coats to try to build up some protection. Despite that, I didn’t find the spray particularly effective. Light dust and dry marks were easier to wipe away, but it didn’t prevent staining from liquids like soy sauce or curry. In the end, the mat still absorbed spills just like before. In terms of size, the bottle looks reasonably large at first glance, but I was surprised by how quickly it emptied. After applying just a few coats to one oversized mouse mat, the bottle was completely used up. So while it might be enough for spot-treating shoes or bags, it’s not well-suited to larger surfaces or multiple items. That said, I do appreciate that the formula is non-toxic and safe for indoor use, especially around electronics, pets, or sensitive materials. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a light layer of protection for suede or fabric without the harsh chemicals or strong odours found in other waterproofing sprays. Overall, this is a good option for small, delicate items that need occasional protection, but if you’re treating larger surfaces or looking for strong water resistance, it might not be the most cost-effective or powerful choice. It’s gentle and safe — but not the most long-lasting or heavy-duty.

Easy to use. Love Renapur leather conditioner so hoping this waterproofing spray is as good as that - time will tell!

I think it is probably effective, as after spraying my trainers I realised I had waterproofed my hand. The spray itself is not an aerosol and is quite tedious and will make your hand ache - in frustration I got sloppy and sprayed it on the hand that was holding my trainer. My hand was fully waterproof for about 4 days. It was not a pleasant experience as it left my hand feeling extremely dry but no amount of hand cream would penetrate the waterproofing. I used numerous exfoliators before it eventually started to wear off. Overall I would imagine it would be effective on trainers, however I removed a star for the frustrating pump.

Easy to apply and dries really quickly, no issues

Very good product. My 5th time buying this. Contrary to many different spray aerosols brands i've tried in the past, this actually works, shoes become impervious to liquids. And for a long time. Usually aerosols have a limited durability once applied but this lasts a good long time. And as stated, no smell and does not alter the colours. I've tried on many different colours of suede and nubuck, even "vegan suede" and does work as intended. I followed the instuctions to make sure it's properly applied: spray all over until damp and brush over with a soft haired brush. Let dry 24 hours. Brush over again with another soft haired brush. Items look like before spraying and now waterproofed yet breathable. I even do a 2nd coat sometimes. Yes, it's expensive but works. Best to apply when new. For people comparing it to other sprays, aerosols for example work well at first but quickly fail after a few times - this will last a good 6 months to a year no problem when applied correctly (damp/wet/soaked and fully dried 24h+). P.s. And on used, brush the boots or shoes or jacket and use a block if needed before.
