The fabric is silky but washable. The lace on the edges is really nice. It feels and looks like an expensive trim. Somehow I lost the sash - I saw it go into the wash but the laundry gods took it as tribute. I put off wearing it until I got a replacement ($2.99, thank you Amazon!) And now I've been able to wear it. It's a great robe. It has the inside tie to keep shape. Although I may add a snap to the "free" side to give me some more coverage. But that's just me, things have a way of shifting open on me. Most people wouldn't need it. The dusty blue color is darker in real life than in the photo, but it's a pretty dusty blue. It comes with a little bag made out of the same fabric but I don't know why.
