The Vulcan Z SSDs by Teamgroup are actually good
I had never heard of teamgroup but they were recommended by a veteran IT guy so I went ahead and bought a couple of the Vulcan Z series earlier this year in 2025 (1x1TB & 1x512GB). I used one to replace the hdd on my mother-inlaw’s old thinkpad and give it some new life, and one as a second hard drive in my wife’s computer, and they’ve been awesome so far. (The old thinkpad has new life and it’s snappy again and it’s useable again.) It’s only been a little less than a year so we’ll see how these things do in the long haul but so far, they’ve been great. I’ve even bought a couple more since, and will probably continue to use them in the future (barring they don’t get too expensive, if course). All in all, great value for the price — at least at the time — of around $60-70 CAD for the 1TB Teamgroup Vulcan Z series ssd and around $40-45 CAD for the 512GB of the same series. Prices have gone up quite a bit — ~$60-70 CAD as of about March 2025 to $95 CAD as of Oct 2025 — but I think it’s still pretty good value.

Better than expected
The majority of the SSDs out there don't come with a cable. This one is no different. Aside from that this is a great SSD. I use it in a gaming only PC . Compared to nvme drives this is only like 10 seconds slower. I would totally get another one when they go on sale
