The only place on the package that salt is mentioned is on the front of the package. If you enlarge the pictured product, you will see that just under the picture, you see "Ground Sumac". Just under that, you see 5 circles that say " non-irradiated", "Salt Free" and so on. Just below that is the ingredients list. Salt is not one of the ingredients. There nothing on the back of the package except a white sticker with a "Best By" date. I have no idea why anyone would say that salt is listed as an ingredient...because salt is not an ingredient.

I believe it is from the USA. Sumac is quite common around the USA.

There is no salt or oil in the sumac.

Quality and Fresh

So I just discovered this amazing spice. I use it like other folks use Franks Red Hot sauce. I put that stuff on everything. Even buttered toast. Bright citrus flavor. I would describe it like paprika and lime?

Fresh and flavorful.

It's great. It tastes like it is supposed to. I use it to marinade red onions and sprinkle it on grilled meat.

Very Tasty and Memorable!

To say that I enjoy spices is definitely an understatement! I have a love affair with many different types of spices from around the world! That is why I was glad when I received this spice very recently! I put it to use soon after receiving it! I enjoy making and eating spicy foods. My favorite spicy dish is chili. I did use other spices as well. But I put more than just a touch of the sumac in it! It definitely added both some flavor and heat notes to my composition! I definitely am looking forward to making several different dishes using it!
