I've only recently started mat based movements and breath work and in my opinion this is a wonderful mat. It's very comfortable and supportive. More challenging poses that require balancing on a specific pressure point require you to engage the muscles a bit more due to the thickness of the mat and can cause me to feel slightly unstable but it doesn't bother me and it's easy to move over to the rug if needed. Regarding the aesthetics of the mat, it's a smoother texture on the bottom and has slight lines along the length of the top side and grips nicely. It is thick dense foam so expect slight imperfections in places where small pieces have torn away but still looks fine and in no way affects how I use the mat. Overall, I love it!

THIS IS THE BEST MAT I HAVE EVER HAD! It's the perfect thickness to keep you comfortable while standing on it or laying on the floor. Now, When I get on the floor to stretch, I'm no longer on the floor longer because I feel it'll hurt to get up, I'm down there now because I'm just that comfortable that I can lay there and actually be pain free! Sorry I don't have a Pic at the moment but I'll add one later if this allows me to!

It's so thick that I don't use it for yoga but as a bedroll. Bouncy. Nice color like in the picture.
