Taylor Swift said once, โThe scary news is, you are on your own now. But the cool news is, you are on your own nowโ The fear of loneliness has been injected into our minds since we were kids. We have learned that the kid who eats, & sits alone, and has no friends is pathetic. In every book/movie, the kid with no friends is always featured as a weak character who needs to be saved. No one wants to be seen as a โweirdoโ hence, our dread of being alone. We donโt want people to think of us as unwanted or not fitting in with the cool kids. We donโt want people to think that no one chose us. So what do we do? We start becoming like an ideal version of whom everyone loves. And in the race to achieve peopleโs acceptance and love, you lose yourself. But enough is enough. The book is divided into two sections. The first section is about transforming loneliness into solitude. And the second section is about using your solitude to turn it into your growth period. If you are ready to transform your perception around loneliness and achieve your goals using your โalone timeโ then welcome to โThe Art of Being Alone.โ Review: Turn loneliness to solitude, get to know yourself, focus on personal development, avoid parasites... - Just finished reading this. The author seems to have experienced loneliness and have found ways to cope with it. She talks about solitude, getting to know yourself, turning the period of loneliness into personal development. She also talks about getting rid of parasites (people who are only with you for a gain only). Her writing skills can be improved. She made the effort of convey her message and self-published this book. My understanding is that this was her second book. She has come a long way, and I think she is an inspiration. Review: Amazing.. once I started I couldnt put it down - Made me feel amazing. I have whole new outlook on life. A beautiful read. I will be looking out for more books from this Author

It's all you need to master the art of being alone
I'm alone while reading this book and I was already living in perfect harmony with myself before picking the book and most of what she said is what I'm already practicing consciously or unconsciously. I picked up many things also - especially to turn my solitude into growth. Thank you, Rakuna. "Most knowledge is simply transforming the unconscious to conscious"

Poorly Written
Thought it was poor written and not really informative. Read half of it and will finish.. maybe the second half is better than the first.

What a pleasant surprise and read
I really like how Renuka puts the steering wheel in your hand and asks you to drive the car (your life). Simple in the context it doesn't sell you hacks or methodology, just a reminder that aloneness is the gateway to meeting and becoming ineffably You. I recommend this book to teens and young adults although as a single woman in her mid 40s I enjoyed the short read.
