Higuchi Yuko 100POSTCARDS Animals Illustration Art Postcard Book Box

You might wonder how many of these (out of 100!) are marvelous. Well, I'd say 80-90% are so marvelous that they might be the most marvelous postcards I've ever had. They really delight people. Do people you know a favor and send them these or surprise them with them randomly. I included one with each person's holiday gift and wrote a weird letter on the back of it. It went well.

I only recently discovered Yuko Higuchi, but the moment I did, I fell hard. I already purchased her “Museum” coloring book and was thrilled at the quality, so even though this set is not widely available in the US, I knew I had to purchase these... despite the price. And I am sooo glad I did!You’ll receive 100 unique illustrations, not a dud in the mix. There’s an accompanying booklet that’s darling too, but utterly lost on me as I don’t know Japanese. But the postcards are text-free so the only language you need is Whimsy. The card stock puts the typical American postcard sets to shame: it’s unbelievably sturdy. The matte address side has a few little faint illustrations in the corners as these are designed for the Japanese market (in that they often write their cards vertically). However, with easy modification of the stamp placement, nothing about this format interferes with US mailing. The incredibly high quality reusable box they’re stored in is something you’ll want to keep forever. So well done.The set features a variety of animals: Bunnies, alligators, little birds, and a very generous helping of cats (inspired by the artist’s own feline, Boris). Higuchi also has a penchant for mushrooms so fans of fungi will pleased too. While the style here makes you immediately smile—a few of the cards are overtly cute—most of the offerings, not unlike another illustrator I love, Edward Gorey, have a depth that makes you think. Weird and wonderful, and off kilter in the most adorable of ways.

This is a gorgeous set of art in postcard form. I bought this set for myself, and I was thrilled at the quality and all the variety of illustrations. Definitely a must have if you're a fan of Yuko Higuchi's work!

I love these postcards they are very unique each one has a different artistic creation. I love the box I love the postcards! I would definitely recommend these! They are well worth the money.

I have become a fan of Yuko Higuchi' s illustations. Her wor could be described as whimsical with a hint of surrealism. Many contain cats but there are other creatures as well like rabbits, birds and sea creatures. The images are printed on heavy card stock. They are postcards, but I do not think I could part with any of them, since I will hang some of them on walls in a grid like fashion. Many of the images are from her books, and some I was unable to trace the origins. No two images are alike. I recommend this to individuals that enjoy collecting her work. It took about a month to get the box, but it is worth the wait.

This is a beautiful box with 100 drawings by Higuchi Yuko printed on semi-gloss card stock. There is even a little book in the box which is itself a work of art. There are many different animals in this collection of drawings. Some of my favorites are the bats and the cats.I'm very happy with this.

Very expensive but well worth it. Very thick and awesome images you'll want to keep them all. Only anti animal people will hate them. Some cards are considered strange but if your doing postcrossing , you’ll find people that will want them.

This item was not inexpensive but both shipments we ordered came with damaged boxes.We ended up keeping the second order but I am very disappointed in the product.

There is a great variety of postcards, they are very well made. My daughter loves them. This artist always has wonderful images.
