Great little rain gauge
I bought this rain gauge to replace a hard plastic one that eventually cracked in the sun and temperature changes. The silicone on this one has been very durable after several months of use. The base is still plastic and seems durable too. Easy to use and to read the rain level too.

Durable
Seems to work well for tracking rainfall and nice to keep an eye on irrigation in our landscape beds. Already had some freezing temps and they hold up fine, much better than the plastic versions. A little more cost, but worth it for durability.

Works great, easy to stake into the ground, but far too expensive
First, this "Taylor Break and Freeze Proof Flexible Silicone Sprinkler Gauge" is very well made and easy to insert into the ground. It measures the amount of water my sprinklers deposit at a specific spot and has a wide-enough mouth to make me believe it will be an accurate measurement. It measures up to two inches and is made out of soft sillicone with a hard base that's very easy to push into the ground. In my area. we are allowed to water once a week on Thursday mornings, and I planted the guage in the middle of the lawn in an area that's kind of dead-looking to see if it's getting enough water. Sure enough, it is -- this easy-to-read gauge collected 1.25", which is actually too much -- an inch a week is what's recommended for my grass. So I can dial back the amount of water that zone uses and then next week, use this gauge to check another zone. The only reason I can't give it five stars is the price -- seems like it should cost 1/3rd of the price, or for the price you should get three or more of these gauges. That's actually what you want, since having just one only lets you check one location each time you run the sprinklers. It behooooves me to point out that an empty tuna can can also be used to check how much water a spot is receiving, but I did appreciate using a device with an actual gauge on it. Again, just wish it was less expensive or I'd order more since the water savings (or, conversely surviving plants) would pay for this device.

No more worries about a sudden freeze destroying my rain gauges
I have struggled for years to make sure that I bring in all the rain gauges around the property before the first freeze, but as you may know, the weather can be very unpredictable and so it was a relief to finally find something that is not going to crack when water may freeze in it. Why I did not find these years ago is beyond me, but I am so glad that I have found them now. I am so happy to have easy to read measures on the rain gauge and the fact that it is just two inches is perfect for me because whether watering or raining, it is highly unlikely that I will get more than the two inches. I will mention that in order to get it to stick in the ground and not just fall over, I took a large wooden dowel (you could use lots of different things) to insert it into the cup and then gently hammer it into the ground. Works great for me. I will now be ordering the full size rain gauge to replace some of the hard plastic ones I currently have. They seem to be of quality materials and constructed so they should last a good long while. The price is a little high especially for the short 2" size I ordered, and it will be a while before I can really speak to its longevity, but I feel very confident that they will last a lot longer than the old plastic ones.

Great to use - simple but functional.
The water gauge works well. The large spike helps keep it in place although it might be more difficult to use in very dry ground. The silicone cup seems more durable and less likely to break through usage than hard plastic. Overall it's been very helpful in monitoring both rainfall and the amount of watering done via the sprinklers. It's easy to place and read, and I'm pretty happy with it.
