Easy install/quality reading
I bought this as a cheaper solution to my issue of measuring my FTP and w/kg on my faster paced rides; I have no complaints so far. The installation process was relatively simple and straightforward, even if you’ve never replaced a crankset in your life. I was able to reuse my stock 105 chainrings so that saved a bit of money right there. I can’t speak for every bike in the market with the same R7100 crankset and BB72 but the installation process took about 10 minutes in total, torqued to specification and rechecked on a weekly basis with no slippage. I did use a small amount of Loctite, which is likely aiding in the non-slippage of the bolts. If you’re a nerd that really loves competing against yourself, are curious about how much you’re actually putting out, or just geek out over numbers and have a little time and some tools, this is a solid choice for a power meter!

Works great and good value
I’m very happy with this item but two things to be aware of: 1. Be sure you know you know the diameter of bottom bracket or else it will not work and you’ll need to replace that as well. 2. Check the bolt pattern of your chainring or you may need to replace that as well. My bike had a creak in the BB so switching it over and replacing the chainring were already upgrades I was going to make. Very happy with the result and the operation of this device.

Good power meter.
Great value for dollar power meter. Running with Ultegra chain rings. Follow the directions to a T for install onto bike and check/re-torque bolts (if necessary) after first couple of rides. The Magene app itself is necessary for setup and calibration but not great for computer/monitoring use. Setup with other apps has been easy though.

This thing is a $300 brick.
This thing is a $300 brick. DO NOT update to firmware version .118 or you’re screwed. It’s been over a month since this firmware was released and they still haven’t addressed the constant disconnects that plague this version. I’ve tried the suggested nRF Connect “fix” and it made no difference. Unless and until Magene addresses the .118 firmware issues, I’d stay far far away. It’s a real shame because the power meter is supposed to be pretty good…when it works.

Excellent First Impression
Purchased this as it went on sale and it's leaving a great first impression. I'll hopefully come back and update the review as I get some miles on it, but right from the get go I'm impressed. Installation and Setup was pretty easy. I replaced a Shimano Ultegra R8000 crankset, and this was a direct replacement with no modifications required. The spindle fits perfectly into a Trek BB90 bottom bracket. All of the hardware that requires locktite already has some in place as it ships. My Ultegra 11 speed chainrings fit perfectly with the old Shimano hardware. The crankset does include a set of chainring bolts for use with other chainrings. The only "special" tool I needed was a 44mm 16t bottom bracket wrench to attach the spider to the crank arms. Weight: Crankset without rings (165mm in my case) came in at 620g. With the Ultegra 50/34 rings fitted it came in at 768g. Fit and finish: Cranks shipped in a nice box with foam inserts, well packed. I didn't see any scratches or dings. All of the threads felt relatively smooth. The spindle looks well machined and fit perfectly into my bottom bracket with no slop. Overall it's about what I expect out of modern Chinese manufacturing. Power meter and app: I didn't have any trouble getting the app set up. It connects to the cranks easily, you may have to wake them up by applying a little bit of load. The native app gives wattage output, cadence, and left/right balance readouts. The UI was a little too small to read for me, but my vision isn't great. I personally sync with the Wahoo Fitness app, which will read out power and cadence data, as well as speed, distance, time, etc. It'll even sync with Strava at the end of my ride. It seems to be the best free app if you want all of that functionality. I haven't had any disconnects, but I never updated the firmware. Seems to work just fine on it's current version, so I ain't messing with it! Having the data is great. I can stay within a certain cadence range without thinking about it too hard, and keeping consistent wattage despite elevation and wind helps keep things feeling a lot more consistent. rideability hasn't been negatively impacted. If shifts just fine and doesn't make noise. I'm quite satisfied considering it's an entry level power meter. Time will tell how it holds up, but I'm not expecting it to compare to something more professional grade.

Power Meter for the Non-Professional
After riding 1000+ miles on this crank, I can say I am nothing but pleased. It may not be the lightest crank out there, but my racing days are behind me so saving a few grams is unimportant. Here are the pros: Pros: Reliable power meter Accurate Long battery life--I still haven't had to charge it Affordable Cons: Not brand name, so you might get some ribbing at the next group ride Not a featherweight *IMPORTANT--must use manufacturer's native app to activate, then it works with whatever system you pair it with. Okay, I'll be honest--this is my first power meter but it does exactly what I need it to do, so I can't really find any cons that stand out to me. I guess I could want it in different colors maybe, but I digress. This crank has enabled me to more precisely execute training plans and it makes a big difference--turns out I was overtraining most of the time, so this power meter has been a life saver, or effort saver.

Love it! Getting a second one for my other bike
Product is amazing. Easy to install, fit perfectly and simple to set up. Recovering from a hip injury and I felt like this product gave me confidence with all of the data. Well priced, I am getting a second one for my MTB bike.

Obvious choice for power meter. I'm impressed!
If you want to get a power meter but you don't want to shell out over $700 for dual-side pedals or 4iii, this is the product for you. I am impressed. It even gives me L/R leg balance, which you only get if you go dual-side with pedal-baser or crank-based meters. For the price, this is a no-brainer. The only downside compared to those other technologies is that the installation is less simple, but still very doable if you have the right tools. There are a few videos on YouTube on how to do it.

very loose fit on spider
I tried this one and the geoid version both are overpriced trash in shiney packaging the incredibly loose fitting spider will lead to this device failing rapidly.
