Almost all of the stain i use is oil based and this is the only poly i use. **Q: Can this polyurethane be used on kitchen counter tops? I am planning on painting mine. Feedback please!** A: I consider “one coat” of any finish, especially on a countertop, to be insufficient. For surfaces that I know are going to get wet, I use a good exterior solvent based polyurethane. Varathane and McCloskey are good brands. And I apply three coats, sanding lightly between coats with 220 grit. **Q: Can I use this to seal a white painted table?** A: The best option for the white painted table, if you want a clear coat over it, is to use Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish. It stays clear with no yellowing. **Q: what kind of sanding sealer should be used before this product?** A: MinWax Lacquer sanding sealer is an excellent product one o the best on the market it runs anywhere from $21.00 to $28.00 depending on the market location ## Frequently Bought Together - Minwax 356050000 One Coat Polyurethane, Quart, Satin - Pro Grade, Paint Brushes, 5-Piece, Paint Brush Set: Flat & Angle Brushes for Latex and Oil Paints, Stains, Interior & Exterior Home Improvement - 1 qt Minwax 61500 Clear Pre-Stain Oil-Based Wood Conditioner --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/733901858-minwax-company-the-356050000-one-coat-quartz-satin-stain](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/733901858-minwax-company-the-356050000-one-coat-quartz-satin-stain) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-11-04*
