It's a great medium hold. It's shine is not too strong, and the smell is pleasant. It also conditions, which is a plus over the other brands.

This one isn't a "gel" type. It's more waxy than anything. It doesn't get hard, but it does get a little dry as the day wears on. None of that "helmet" business like suavetico, though.

I have sort of curly hair, will this allow me to style my hair and make it stay in place, and at the same time not look extremely stiff?

Not unless you put gobs of it on, or leave it in for days. Day 3 was when I noticed it feeling greasy...otherwise it just felt like a wax pomade.
