This fabulous little book is a must for those looking to restore old furniture. It explains in simple terms how to make all kinds of repairs to suit different experience levels and so is a great guide for those starting out, or even just doing a "one off " repair on a piece of domestic furniture. I have just started french polishing and this guide covered the finishing process that has helped me to achieve a lovely glass like surface to a table that I had been restoring.

Good simple advice
Ten years ago I had worked in an Antique shop restoring old French farm house tables that had sat outside for years or the chickens had made their homes on. This book will very simply tell you how to restore that piece of old rubbish and make money on it. As long as you dont buy anything that is so far gone with a few simple techniques you will transform the furniture and this book will clearly tell you how , for a couple of pence and the postage its a huge bargain !

Excellent book
This little book is one of those gems that come along from time to time.Well written and illustrated you can just dip in to find the information you need. The sections on surface treatments are very good and pass on many useful tips that aren't always found in weightier and more worthy books. It is also excellent value for money.
