Miss Lady Bird's Wildflowers: How a First Lady Changed America

I read this to my second graders before we visited the Ladybird Wildflower center.

A really informative book about Lady Bird, I live about an hour away from their ranch and learned some things I didn't know. The writing and photos are done in a way that this would be great for children also. I gave one as a gift to someone who goes each year to photograph the flowers up by the ranch and highways, they also learned things they didn't know. A very informative, beautifully written and artistically drawn pictures. I highly recommend this for yourself or someone who loves the wildflowers plus some history.

Beautiful book!

I bought this book for my momma, a life-long fan of wildflowers and children. She teaches Sunday school in a rural Texas town and shared this book with her 3 year olds, emphasizing the glory of our God, as revealed in these beautiful little flowers! I purchased this book because one our visiting granddaughters found it in our local library and loved it. When they left, I ordered the book. Later I was able to deliver it to her and she was delighted. She is 3 and almost knows it by heart. I think it is a very good book for that age group and higher.

This book is more of a history lesson the the story I hoped it would be. Death of her mother, assassination of Kennedy,and death of her husband Lyndon B. Johnson. I was hoping for more love of flowers.

I used this beautiful picture book to prepare my lesson for Garden Club. The Garden Club liked it so much that we purchased it for the local Grade School library.
