I just noticed the 4 oz. bottle says large breed. Can I still use this with the lower dose for my 12 lb. dog?

Thank you for reaching out to us! It's always best to check for compatibility when your pet is receiving medications, and you are considering a new supplement.

Our Young at Heart may not be used with Vetmedin/Pimobendan at all.

Do note that if you would like to switch from the Vetmedin/Pimobendan to Young at Heart, you must speak to your veterinarian about this, as it is dangerous for your pet to stop this type of medication abruptly.

If you would prefer to stick with the medication (and not use Young at Heart), then you may consider Dandelion Root, which supports the heart as well as the liver. You could also think about adding an omega-3 supplement (which we also offer), as this also supports a healthy heart!

Can this be used in conjunction with Enalapril?

Enalapril is safe for pets using Young at Heart but you will need to start at a lower dosage of the Young at Heart.

Our Veterinarian, Dr Janice, recommends one dose of the Enalapril in the morning and one dose of the Young at Heart in the evening (or 12 hours later) to start. 
If you find that your pet isn't seeing results at this dosage (after 2 weeks of use), she recommends that you increase the Enalapril to a full dosage (as recommended by your Veterinarian) and continue with a half dosage of the Young at Heart. 
If your pet does well with this dosage you can gradually increase till you are giving the Enalapril at full dosage (as recommended by your Vet) as well as the Young at Heart at full dosage, which is twice per day.

This can vary depending on the severity of your pets condition so we always recommend speaking to your Veterinarian regarding this and working with them to ensure your pet is doing well with both medication and supplement.
