A: Let me start off by saying. I really like these pencils. I use a very sharp pencil sharpener, and they sharpen very nicely.

**Q: How different are these from the other pastels?**
A: I find them to be softer then the average pastel pencil. I as surprised to see how well they work . I would definitely recommend them .

**Q: how well do they hold up during sharpening?**
A: I have been very pleased with my Derwent pencils. The hold up well when sharpening. I have not  had trouble with broken lead after sharpening. Love my Derwent pencils.
