I've ordered a few products from this company. I am new to herbs; however, the packaging is good and product seems good. I just started taking this today (12/20). I mixed the appropriate amount with my coffee. Did not taste it at all! I will update in about six months, once I can gauge whether or not this is working for me. Ready for an update?? I started taking this on Dec. 20. It is now two months later. And note, I didn't take it for three weeks bc I had a surgery. I am very impressed. I'll update after summer. But here is a photo taken a short while ago (before fo-ti). The two current pics are from 02/26...two months later.

I really like the way this herb tastes. Fo-ti (or He Shou Wu) and Rehmannia are my two favorite tasting herbs and they both have similar functions, but this review will be about Fo-Ti. The taste is because the raw root is processed by cooking it in a broth of black soybeans. Someone discovered that this activates some of the beneficial qualities of the plant. This herb is essentially an adrenal tonic. It will support the kidneys, adrenal glands and libido. It is used by martial artists to help strengthen joints and build the bones. It is said to prevent or reverse hair greying and hair fall in men, but to notice any affect you would probably have to make serious dietary changes like cutting out alcohol, caffeine and high Omega-6 fat foods among other things. He shou wu has a cooling energy and is a good general rejuvenative herb for pitta or fire type constitutions. Find out your Ayurvedic constitution, it can be helpful! It is very unctious, thick and heavy, so if you have sluggish digestion or experience extra mucous when using this, you might have to use it only short term OR address some of the other things in you life that cause you mucus such as dairy, excessive wheat comsumption, meat, sugar, etc. I experienced the quality of this particular brand to be excellent.

A friend recommended this product to me because she felt it was amazing in terms of increasing energy and overall well-being; she even claims it stopped her hair from graying. My husband and I have been using it approximately one month now, twice a day. The taste is NOT good- you just have to shake it into some water and drink it fast, like a shot- but I swear that it has REALLY helped a shoulder tendonitis injury heal much faster. I injured it last May doing water sports and had been treating it since with manual manipulation, rest, and some PT exercises. It seemed like it had reached a plateau, still painful at times. Since taking this product, it is much, much better - I would say 90% healed. When you first take it, you may notice some "cleansing" for the first few days...it does detoxify, but this levels off. I look forward to seeing what else it can do over more time.

Tastes way better than I anticipated! I add a tbs of real, local, honey into my cup after mixing tea into warm water. Sometimes I'll add a splash of heavy whipping cream too. It tastes perfectly balanced; slightly sweet, little earthy, smooth. It hasn't been long enough to begin any notable benefits yet, but I'm enjoying the ride.

I looked into it for my hair...and to help with whatever little gray hair was having. I cannot say about hair fall issue yet BUT I do have more energy, I wake up early and fresh and overall my skin looks healthier and thicker. I love it and thank the Fo-Ti root for it's blood cleansing, energy enhancing and beautifying the skin qualities. In TCM, this herb is considered for nourishing the liver and kidneys and in purifying the blood. I will be happy to continue taking this and have NO doubt it is (though subtle right now) helping me with my hair as well. Also, the taste is good - it is both slightly bitter and sweet. I mix it with my plant based milk, cacao, cacao butter, and some mushroom powder by the same brand. It mixes well - I do warm the milk slightly. I love the taste. Happy to be this brand's customer.
