Would recommend
Excellent boots, prob the best pair I’ve bought. Sturdy, water proof and comfortable. Would recommend. I do look after them tho with cleaning and waterproofing.

Ideal walking boots, on the trail or city
So far so good. 30 year plus heritage boot design, originally by Brasher - now Berghaus Have tried various boots, these comfortable straight away. I struggled getting boots to fit, so tried these via a vinted buy, which I then resold in 1 day, to buy these as new. Went one size up from my normal shoe size, to account for thicker hiking socks.

Great boot
Great boot, I've been wearing these for over a year now, well tested and they are still in great shape. Great waterproof boot, I've never got wet feet in them. preform well in muck and wet grass or marsh. Well constructed strong boot. They are comfortable but a stiff boot, ideal for off road, I have wore them on long stoned road walks, found them a bit hard on my soles after about 15km mark on the hard surface, definitely more suited to off road walks than long distance road walks.I would like to see the same boot with a higher option like a 9 inch ankle boot for more ankle support and for more confidence in boggy ground. I would definitely recommend them and they look and feel like they will last for years.

Buying a second pair!
As a keen outdoorsman and terrierman, I needed a boot that wouldn’t let me down no matter the weather condition or distance myself and my patterdale terrier covered. I’m absolutely blown away by the performance of the hillmaster 2, so much so that I decided to write a quite comprehensive review - something I hardly ever do. To start with, the boot has a fantastic construction. A strong and sturdy, yet comfortable feel to them. You can tell that the boots are designed to last and made from high quality materials. It took me one 11KM walk, mainly on dirt track, to break them in properly. I returned home with entirely blister free feet, although the boots hadn’t been worn before this walk (FYI - I did have on high quality boot socks). I have so far covered just shy of 150KM in the boots, spread over just under two weeks of fairly testing weather conditions (Snow and ice, to rain and lots of mud - see photos) and the boots are performing wonderfully. The boots have a fantastic level of grip, which I can trust time and time again to keep me upright - even when down a muddy water filled ditch at 7.30AM on a Monday… The boots are incredibly comfortable. I personally have no problem covering 10-15KM+ in a day, across all different types of terrain, with an extremely energetic dog at the end of the lead. The only caveat worth mentioning is one that you should probably already know if you’re considering these boots; They are leather constructed. How is this a caveat? Leather needs care which I presume most people know already, but it’s worthy of a mention - I spend roughly an hour a week cleaning and protecting my boots with Nikwax products. This gives them performance like a ceramic coated car - mud, water and who knows what else just falls straight off. I’m very impressed with the performance of these boots and will be buying a second pair shortly. Even though the boots are currently not at the full price of £170 - I would be HAPPY to pay that much for them.

Comfortable and robust boots
This is a like-for-like replacement for my current walking boots. I typically walk 5 miles/day across fields and footpaths, so my walking boots do get significant use in challenging conditions. I have tried many other boots, but this is one of the most robust and comfortable.

Best boot under £200
Last pair lasted 3 years & using them every day not leaked once I’ve tried a lot of different brands & they all leak, just brought a new pair while they are a bit cheaper. Still got old ones just cosmetic reasons why I got new ones

Instantly comfortable
This is my second pair of these boots. My feet are slightly wide and I often have problems with new boots. No need to break in. These fit perfectly immediately, with normal socks and also thicker hiking socks - so they are good for general schlepping about plus more serious hikes. They also have a cleated sole, which I consider to be essential in a walking boot.. There have been some bad reviews about the durability of the sole, which I would agree with. They do wear down faster than I would like, and yes, they are a bit clunky, especially if you are used to fabric boots. However, the solid design allows for more protection on rocky trails where I live, in a mountainous region. Scarpa GTX boots would be a step up from these, but unnecessary for me these days.

Good mid range boot
Well.. Before I ended up on my own n 2 wages coming in in always bought boots like meindle and scarpa, I then went through a phase of buying really cheap.. Buy cheap you pay twice ect ect.. I'm not kinda back up n at it n needed new boots. I did have the hill masster 1 and tbh they where OK. Got these boots delivered yesterday and did a walk, maybe a shortish walk , maybe 6, 7 mile. Yes they are comfy, good grip, full waterproof.. So for a mid range boot I think they are very much OK.. I would recommend.

Quality boots
Great quality, feel a little bit rigid initially, at least compared to other boots I have had. A couple of walks in and I really like them.
