Slick slide for piezo cigar box guitar!
I found this company and slide while looking for a ceramic slide other than Dunlop offerings. After trying both brass and glass slides with an acoustic pickup cigar box guitar, I saw a review here on Amazon and decided to buy it. The slide sounds great and works smoothly on a set of EB earthwood strings. I tune the CBG to G and can get some really great blues riffs with the slide. Other slides sound hollow, but this one is thick and makes the delta blues G and C chords echo with the sounds of the days gone by.The company is in Salida CO. and appropriately named a slide after the town. I try to support as many American companies as possible and this slide surpasses those slides made by Ernie Ball and Planet Waves. The slide fits my size 12.5 finger with ease and really makes playing a plank of wood extremely pleasurable.I bought this slide thinking it would work well since I have carved frets on the CBG and it works really well. I picked the blue color because it is easy to see. I am most likely going to buy a Salidan slide to use with an electric acoustic. The prices on the slides are great and I have not used any other slide since I got this one. I definitely have the Salidan and a knuckle slide in my sights.

My favorite slide
I've tried all sorts of slides, including brass, steel, chromed something or other, old-school glass medicine bottles, etc. I read about Rocky Mountain Slides, and living here in Colorado, where they're made, I figured I'd give a local business some of my business. I wasn't expecting much, but boy was I wrong. The tone is warm and bright, like a cross between brass and glass, but it also really lets the bass come through, too. And the lighter weight of the slide improved the speed of my playing, making getting around on the fret board that much easier. I love the the finger slides and the tone bars for my resonator. Customer service is great, too - Doc is a great guy. However, for playing acoustic slide, I find that with the lighter weight, I have to do more of the work (a brass one can pick up the slack a bit on a high tension guitar). But then, I play slide almost exclusively on my electric and resonator.Anyway, I love that I'm giving a local craftsman business while getting the best product out there in return.
