Playing Hard to Get Hardcover – January 1, 2009

I thought this book was okay. Sadly to say, expected more than what they had to offer. This book simply shows, the guys mainly smiling and posing with boxer short's, and playing around. They also show a couple or a few cute, kissing scene, oh and the guys cuddling. That's nice and all, but I wanted to see alot more skin and kinky poses, if you know what I mean... Ahem!! Anyway, If I'm confusing anyone, they do show the guys nude here and there, but that's the problems, it's not enough. For those of you who are into soft porn books where guys smile and look pretty for the camera, with mainly with they're clothes on. Then this book is for you. Otherwise if you're a huge fan, you will be somewhat disappointed with the result you get inside. This book is definitely not worth thirty something dollars, that's for sure. P.S.Save your money, for something much more exciting, or wait till the price drop.

If you're familiar with Corbin Fisher (and if you're reading this and you're not my BF or future mother-in-law, chances are high that you are), you don't have to be a rocket scientist, brain surgeon, or Harvard grad to figure out what fills the pages of Corbin Fisher's Playing Hard to Get. A follow-up to his Amateur College Men, although the subject matter isn't exactly ground-breaking and the models don't look so much like they were stolen from the pages of European fashion and fitness magazines, there's something pure, refreshing, and fun in this latest <l[...]> release.In fact, one of the best things about this volume is its simplicity, and the natural beauty of the models. When "boy next door" has come to mean Abercrombie & Fitch perfection, it's refreshing to see a book filled with guys who actually look like they could live in your neighborhood. (Assuming you live in a very attractive neighborhood.) The photos in Playing Hard to Get have a feeling of genuineness often missing in many over-produced, super stylized, glammed-up coffee table books today. These are "everyday guys" in a natural setting.Of course that's not to say the models- and photos- aren't hot; they certainly are. They're also anything but naïve. The difference is that rather than approaching sex as dirty and something to be ashamed of or rebel against, Corbin Fisher has found guys who are innocent in their sexuality. They're not hung up on it, and for them it's light and playful. And we get to watch.Playing Hard to Get is not quite HARDCORE as other Bruno Gmunder photo books, which makes it a nice contrast to existing titles you may have on your shelf. The style of photography and composition is also a bit lighter, fresh, and natural. You could say it's the perfect beautiful male photographic work for spring!

Must admit I really like Corbin Fisher models and their interpretation of the All-American jock. This is not their best offering but good enough to earn a place on any gay man's bookshelf. A nice collection of athletic dudes prancing about shirtless, in jeans and shorts and underwear throwing ball, catching ball, even kicking ball, all in the great outdoors. Although most play it "straight", there are some nice romantic moments which suggests that all is not as straight as it may appear. Interspersed amongst all these nice color shots of handsome college jocks are a nice sampling of full nude photos with about half a dozen with erections. Just goes to show what will spring out of all that sporting exertion!

Sports, beginning with the games of Greece and Rome, have always been about young healthy men in top physical form sparring with opponents in games that range from gymnastics, track, baseball, soccer, football, basketball...and friendly rough-housing. Corbin Fisher salutes this tradition of men against men in both combative and attracting fashion. As in his previous books Fisher is more concerned with that innocence of game activity than the actual sport itself, an innocence that gives way to the feelings of joy of body contact and fantasy that accompanies the physicality of sports.PLAYING HARD TO GET is as much a study of physical fitness as it is a collection of terrific action shots in the beautiful out of doors. Really enjoyed looking through this the quality of reproduction was excellent and the imagery startlingly well done.
