While I'm just getting started with this machine the initial experience is five star! The waffle maker was easy to set up and the controls are intuitive and accurate. The display provides positive feedback regarding the choices you make. it clearly displays the mode selection, color setting and cook timer. It is surprisingly handy to have the countdown to done displayed in large text right on the machine. Each of the four waffle sections takes 1/2 cup of batter to make perfectly shaped individual waffles. Each is deliciously cooked to perfection. The color adjustment is crisp with a slight click at each increment as well as a visual indication of the setting on the display screen. During the initial experimentation several batches were made at various settings and each came out markedly different with respect to doneness and crispiness of the exterior. In my opinion this demonstrates precise temperature control of the unit. The unit handles continuous operation with ease and no differece in cooktime or doneness was observed after repeated sequential batches. A light shot of cooking spray on each square before each batch resulted in easy removal with fingertips pinching the waffle edge while lifting straight out of the machine. No sticking at all. Just be careful because they are hot! The waffles themselves are sized perfectly. Each is just right for a side on a breakfast platter and two squares are the perfect size for one hearty searving on their own. They are nicely sized to make ahead, freeze and pop in the toaster at some point in the future. The classic mode takes about 3-1/2 minutes to complete. This makes doing a family sized batch quicker than machines I have owned previously. This is the perfect machine for a hungry family! I highly recommend this product.

This makes the most beautiful, deep-cavity, perfect waffles, with 4 to a single batch. I like that it has lights to show the different stages, as I'm not a pro at waffle making. Even so, I can reliably make perfect waffles every time. This is good-sized and has some heft to it, but its so easy to operate and clean, even has a channel to catch any over-enthusiastic application of batter. It comes with a cup sized for that application, so I have found over-application to almost be deliberate. Using the included cup, I have never had any batter enter the overfloe channel. It comes with a small, detailed recipe booklet. I've tried all the recipes in it, and they all work. Other recipes I've used also work well. Cleanup is so easy. I've never had a waffle stick no matter the recipe. It's a little pricey, but I'm ever so happy with my purchase. Now I can have waffle breakfasts for friends and have various toppings so each can make their heart's desire waffle! So much fun with so little effort!

Well made and works beautifully. Just made my first Belgian waffles and they were perfectly cooked. So easy add batter, and moat takes care of any overflow so cleanup is a breeze. Non stick coating is truly non stick, so removing waffles is easy, too.

I have a few Breville appliances, and they are all of the highest quality. This waffle maker maintains the high standards of the Breville products. This Breville waffle maker addresses conveniences that others don't. For example, the plug has a finger hole that makes it much easier to unplug the unit. Did you ever put a little too much batter into a waffle iron only to have the excess flow over the sides and back of the unit. Then you have to clean the counter, the sides and back of the unit, and often have to get batter out of the hinges. That will never happen with this waffle maker. Any overflow goes into a moat that cooks the excess batter so it is easily removed with the waffle. This waffle maker also heats evenly so the waffles are consistently evenly browned on both sides. There is no wait time between waffles. As soon as you take one out of the maker, it's ready to be loaded with batter for the next waffle. I haven't tried all of the waffle types, but I do know that the temperature and cook time will differ depending on the batter you are baking. For example, a Belgian waffle requires a higher temperature to get the rise, and to crisp on the outside while keeping the inside light and airy. This waffle maker automatically bakes each waffle type depending on the setting you choose. In addition, you can select your preferred brownness. To evenly brown the waffle, the heat must be evenly distributed on the entire top and bottom plate. This is not the case with all waffle makers. A couple reviewers have mentioned that this waffle make is larger than many other. This is true, but the waffle section are also larger. Each section of the waffles made is 5' x 5' x 1" thick whereas the average waffle maker produces sections that are 4" x 4", and usually not a full 1" thick. I would also like to mention that this waffle maker has a lock lever that holds the unit closed when it is not in use. Tonight, I made Belgian waffles, eggs, and sausage. For a family of three, I thought I would have to make more than one waffle for all of us. This was not the case. Each of us could eat only one section since they are larger than the average. After dinner, I baked the remaining waffle batter, cooled the waffles, and separated the sections for freezing. These will be used later for toaster waffles. Fortunately, the slots on my toaster (also a Breville) are large enough to toast the waffle sections.

I wanted a waffle maker to replace an old one that sticks badly. Happily, this one works very well. It's a high-end machine, with a high-end price. It's solid, well-built, and heats evenly. I love the many options built in for types of waffle and brownness settings. I tried notoriously hard to keep from sticking potato waffles and they released easily. I anticipate using this machine for much more than breakfast. One caution, do not use aerosol spray oil. The manual cautions against it and is a sure way to get your waffle iron gummed up and sticking. A quick brush with avocado oil works perfectly for me. My only complaint with this waffle iron is that it can't be stored easily upended.

Makes great waffles and easy to use. I would give it 5 stars but it’s a pain to clean. The plates should come out for an easier cleaning.

I rarely ever leave "nice" reviews but boy oh boy, so worth the cost!! I spent a good chunk of time reviewing the best waffle makers and kept coming back to the Breville, despite it's $300+ price tag. My husband made savory potato waffles filled with cheddar cheese and venison summer sausage we made over the weekend. PHENOMENAL!! You wouldn't of been able to do that with any other waffle maker - Breville has a deeper waffle design so you can add more savory or decadent fillings to your waffle. And today I made a croque madame/panini sandwich. Hands down, BEST panini I've ever had. The bread-to-meat ratio was ridiculous so I was initially worried it wouldn't cook properly because the lid wouldn't close all the way. I set it on "custom" and pushed the "little more" button three times until I got the level of browning I was looking for. The toasting was perfect; the grooves sunk into the bread, the outside was crunchy, and the inside was oh so gooey!! I rubbed basil pesto on one side and mayo on the other, added my meat, sliced cherry tomatoes, arugula dressed in olive oil topped really nice and high, and grilled leeks. I was two thirds into my sandwich before I realized I had forgotten the cheese. But let me tell you, not needed!! With its HeatIQ, the Breville kept the inside moist while releasing the heat so the outside could achieve the proper level of crispyness. AMAZING!! Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I loved my grandmother's waffles and when I was 10 years old, she gave me a garage sale used waffle iron for my birthday! Years and multiple waffle irons later, I was looking for a serious, heavy duty, high quality waffle iron. After some diligent study of tech specs and user reviews, I chose the Breville 4-slicer and I couldn't be happier. We have tried multiple settings and multiple batter recipes and the waffles always come out great! We like our waffles dark and crisp and this unit excels in producing those qualities. Easy-to-use and easy clean-up. Great product!

I like Belgian waffles way better than the thinner ones, so I had high hopes for this. I wasn't let down. I use the waffle recipe from the Food Lab book. After a small amount of fiddling with timing (controlled by the "brown" button) I get consistently good results. I like the fact that there is a timer that starts when you close the lid so you don't have to stand there and watch them cook, just wait for the bell. It has an overflow groove to catch any batter than expands outside the cooking zone. It cleans up easily with a pastry brush or a quick blow. It seems to have enough controls to handle various recipes. Our daughter has the 2-slice version, but doesn't cook with wheat flour. She is a foody though, and has come up with a recipe that works well with it. My only minor complaint is that I wish Breville would tell us what the controls actually do (time, temperature, ??).

La wafflera es bonita y fácil de usar, los waffles quedan muy crujientes por fuera y suaves por dentro, hay que encontrar el tiempo ideal y el dorado adecuado para el tipo de masa utilizada, ya que puede quedar cruda por dentro aunque por fuera luzca dorada. El tiempo de cocción es un poco mas lento que en las waffleras giratorias, sin embargo, la calidad del electrodoméstico es excelente.

I've been making a batch of waffles every weekend and freezing them for the week. This is an excellent waffle maker. It does one thing and it does it very well. At first I was concerned that the plates were not removable but it turns out that any excess batter cooks and can be swept off after it has cooled without an issue. I'm saving money over buying Belgian waffles in the grocery store, plus now I can make high-protein versions, and of course there's nothing like fresh waffles with a slight crisp on the outside and soft inside. Browning is even. It's just perfection.

I have used my wafflemaker at least 10 times now. So far, I've found that: 1) I can make perfect waffles everytime using the default preset. They all come out perfectly baked and all equal, no need to constantly lift the cover to take a look. Just trust the machine, it never failed on me. 2) Very easy to clean. The surface is non-stick. The spill collector is a very nice feature. 3) You can make 4 big waffles at a time (a little bigger waffles than what regular wafflemakers usually make, but very close in shape and size to what I can find at a local belgian restaurant) in about 5 minutes. I have a big family and it used to take forever to make enough waffles in my old cheap wafflemaker. Now in 30 minutes, I have enough waffles to satisfy 3 children and 2 adults in the morning, with leftovers for the next morning. Result = we make waffles way more often now. 4) It looks really cool and sturdy 5) The included measuring scoop seems to be exactly on spot in terms of waffle mix quantity that you need to pour in each spot. Of course, it's not cheap but overall, I'm very satisfied with this item. I cannot imagine you can make a better wafflemaker for home use. I do not regret putting this amount of money over this item. Worth every penny if you are serious about making waffles.
