This is great! Bluetooth sound and data transfer is becoming pretty much ubiquitous. This is great unless your computer does not have a bluetooth transmitter/receiver from the factory or if the hardware died. Simply install the driver off the included CD (sorry mac users) for Win 2000, XP, Vista, & 7. and then pug the dongle into an open USB port. I'm running Win7 (64 bit) and plugged the dongle into a USB hub. It works perfectly. No hassles, no headaches. No need for an expensive proprietary part or extensive dis-assembly /re-assembly to achieve this goal. It's even inexpensive, how great is that?

My 2009 MacPro has a notoriously weak and intermittently non-existent bluetooth signal. I tried one fix as described at "[...]" which worked great for a while, but the connection to the bluetooth chip on the motherboard was so frail that the first time I worked inside the machine it disconnected and I couldn't reconnect it. So, I Got this little Targus adapter, plugged it into the USB port on the front of the MacPro and the Bluetooth preferences immediately recognized it and allowed me to connect Trackpad, Magic Mouse, Keyboard and numeric pad all connected and work flawlessly and responsively. Bluetooth is finally great as the MacPro intended. Thanks to Amazon who got me this on time and a a great price!

I guess I was just getting interference from something else because it seems to be working very well now! 4 stars!I bought this to use my Apple Magic Mouse on my new Hackintosh. It works well but the reach on it is verrrrrry disappointing. I don't know if i just have a bad model but I can't go more than 3-4 feet without my mouse lagging terribly. I also used it to connect my ps3 controller to my hackintosh but switched to USB because I get more reach with that than with this USB bluetooth adapter.

I ordered this because my new HP Mobile OfficeJet did not work in bluetooth mode with my MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.8. I was on chat and the phone with HP customer support for hours, over a total of 2 days. They sent a new printer, but I decided to order a bluetooth adapter, based on a hint in another review I had read, just in case the problem was on the Mac side. All I had to do was plug in this adapter to a USB port on the Mac, and voila! It took a couple minutes, but I was able to see and print to the printer. (And the Mac still couldn't see the new printer in bluetooth mode -- without this adapter.) No setup, no hassle. Then, I was able to print from my iPhone as well. I will say the adapter was a lot smaller than I expected, about the size of a scrabble tile! I hope it doesn't get lost. It was not even in a box -- just in a plastic bag with a mini CD. I'm kind of afraid to take it out of the USB slot, but I need the port, the printer is for traveling, and it doesn't need to be constantly connected. I'll try this with my Win 7 or XP system next, just to see if it works as well with those, but even if not, I'm a happy camper.

I plugged it into my laptop PC running Windows 7, it would not connect to my Blu Tooth adapter. I returned it. I then upgraded to Windows 10, and I found that I did not need it. I had Blu Tooth already installed.

I recieved it opened the packed, connected to my computer and...nothing. did not work tried it on another computer and still nothing. Read the return policy from the company and they say you have to return items in original "unopened"package...really? how are you supposed to do that? And you have to pay for shipping...thats just wrong. I have bought alot of merchandise from amazon and their affilliates..and never had an issue if the item was damaged and needed to be returned....cross this company (BuyAccessories) off the list! I will never buy from them again

This is a tough call. This baby is expected to work on a Mac, to enable a Mac, which has no native bluetooth, to use bluetooth. And so it did when I first installed it. By the next morning, however, the Mac could not see the bluetooth. After much fiddling and experimenting, the Mac recognizes that it has bluetooth, but it has no idea how to connect to the bluetooth mouse and keyboard. NOW, much of this may be the fact that the instructions do not specify how to work e . Clear instructions and jury-rigging needed!! And I seriously need to get it to work! So, if you have suggestions, I will so appreciate you, Amazon, Jeff Bezus. I'm not an ignorant idiot--I've had computers since 1979--Apple II then, for which i created a magazine, Softalk. Google it. If you send me good instructions for getting this to work with my first-edition Macbook Pro, I will be able to implement them!!! Thank you!

I bought this as part of my desktop build because I knew my OS would not pick up the onboard bluetooth on the motherboard natively. So instead of finding a way for that to work, I chose to go with this route instead. This bluetooth adapter works great with Mac OS X flawlessly. It picked it up right away, and the range seems to be decent, although I have not tested it further than my desk. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a bluetooth adapter because it works well, especially with hackintosh builds.

This was exactly what I needed for my hackintosh to get bluetooth working. It's a little pricey but worth the hassle free use.

Fantastic little adapter, currently have it running on a home built computer running Ubuntu, Mac OSX Lion and Windows 7 and works perfectly. The adapter comes with a drivers and utility disk, but I did not have you use this as it worked out of the box, (including with Mac OSX as it is a Broadcom based adapter).Physically it is very small and you can just put it in the the back of the computer and forget about it.Range has not been an issue for me at all and it has worked perfectly fine up to around 10 foot.Would recommend as a very good value USB Bluetooth adapter.
