I was unsure when purchasing this item because of all the reviews that claimed the threads weren't compatible. However i really liked the style and size for the asking price and so I decided to take a chance and see if it worked for me. I'm happy to report that it fit in my existing plumbing just fine. Maybe the others received defective parts, or perhaps it was their own existing plumbing that was not "standard". Anyway, fit fine for me, and although the material seems much less sturdy than what i replaced, it's able to do the job, look nice while doing it, and at a great price. Happy with my purchase.

I was almost diverted from purchasing this due to all the reviews that this doesn't fit normal (G 1/2") pipe fittings. It fit mine fine, but the reviews about it being of very thin construction are accurate. Use lots of pipe thread tape (teflon tape) and you should be fine with no leakage.

Pipe thickness seems fairly thin but should be adequate. Installation was easy and straightforward. Comes with escutcheon flange.

This product is made overseas and uses a European/metric thread for both ends. If you bought a shower head that is also made overseas, it will likely fit with this extension, but don't let that fool you. It will not connect to a standard US NPT 0.5" shower connection without an adapter. The adapter, a female G thread 0.5" to male NPT 0.5". will cost you another $16 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078C7PDLY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).If you choose to buy the adapter elsewhere, be sure to check the overall length of the adapter (some can be over 2" long) because it will add to the overall length of the extension and may necessitate some kind of cosmetic fix where the extension protrudes from the wall.This product gets two stars for the prompt customer service response.

The long end that goes into the wall was not national pipe I had to get a die and tap the threads almost 3 1/2 full turns of the die to make it work correctly other than that it's perfect and I do like it I am using it it's all good.

Product does not screw into a regularShower arm connection in the wall. Works for the shower head but that doesn’t help if you can’t get the water to it.I ended up retreading the end so I willSee if it screw in enough to seal. If not I will be returning. And I would not recommend it to anyone.
