Trainz Railway Simulator - Collector's Edition (DVD-ROM)

Purchased this expecting it to contain the original Trainz titles so was a bit disappointed, should have read the title! As this is a collectors edition it contains routes submitted by users, some of which are very good, but a lot of USA. But if you want to learn to drive a loco without getting dirty this is the way to go, authentic cab layouts and controls, you will be a train driver in no time!

I have had many hours of game play with this Railway Simulator it is great fun to build your own railway and very realistic.

when loading finished you get a statement of " Your Trainz Build is out of Date " The latest patches can be downloaded from the Trainz Forum. I have tried and failed to find any downloadable patches from any site. The program reverts to reduced screen size any time it feels like it, whether in drive mode or build mode and then you have to exit game and restart to get full screen back.

I was looking forward to this item but when it arrived it is just a repackaged version of the 2006 release. This should have been explained when advertised

This package is a bargain for a little over £6 including delivery, but the description on the Amazon web site is misleading.It is described as having been released in 2011 but the software on the disk is Trainz Railway Simulator 2006. The packaging is clearly new - it states that the package will run under Windows 7 and Vista, neither of which had been released in 2006. Maybe it was first released in this form in 2011 but the software is still 5 years old.The upside is that it installs fairly quickly and loads almost instantly. There are other train simulators which take several minutes to load on my twin-core 3 Ghz PC, and several more minutes to load a selected activity.There are quite a few routes supplied but I haven't found any of the routes listed on the web site and most of the individual activities seem to be tutorials. I was expecting an impressive variety of activities that I could drive and I don't seem to have them.The keyboard controls are somewhat quirky in that brakes seem to have only 3 settings, released, lap and applied. I'm more used to being able to apply as much or as little braking as I want. I'm also used to at least some warning that my train is approaching a section of track with a lower speed limit but I have yet to find any way of displaying this. Real railways have trackside warnings of up-coming changes to speed limits but I haven't spotted any looking forward out of the cab. The result is that an accurate simulation of train protection quickly brings my train to a halt.There are endless route creation features that I am never going to use, so I got a lot of software for my £6. Sadly I didn't get what I thought I was buying, up to date software with plenty of routes for me to drive.

This item is exactly as dscribed. I bought it because I now have a computer which uses Windows 7 64 bit, and my previous versions of Trainz were not happy, to say the least! This version works perfectly, and I am very pleased!

Elegí el juego, porque me gustan y tengo uno del 2009. El juego está muy bien, pero es del 2006, la culpa de esto, no es de Amazon. El juego, está muy bien y todo el proceso de petición y envío, perfecto. Muchas gracias
