The inverter has been working reliably and provides steady power for the equipment I’ve connected. The pure sine wave output and UPS transfer feature are especially useful, and the Bluetooth monitoring makes it easy to check performance. Setup is straightforward, though taking time to plan the wiring and mounting location helps. The unit is fairly large and heavy, so choosing the installation spot in advance is important. Overall, it’s a solid choice for backup power or an off-grid setup.

Stopped Working After a Few Months – No Warranty Resolution
I purchased a Renogy 3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter (Model: RIV1230PU-126) on September 7, 2025, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. The inverter stopped working suddenly after normal use. The last time it was used, it was powering a heat gun and worked perfectly fine. A few days later, when I tried to turn it on again, the inverter was completely dead — no lights, no fan, no sound, nothing. I verified the battery voltage (12–13V at the inverter terminals), checked all connections, and followed every troubleshooting step requested by Renogy support. I even provided additional details and testing results to help them diagnose the issue. Instead of providing a clear warranty solution, support kept asking the same basic questions over and over again. After several days of communication and cooperation from my side, the support case was simply closed without any real resolution. This inverter was installed correctly with a 12V lithium battery with a 200A BMS and heavy-gauge cables, exactly as recommended. There were no overloads, no misuse, and no visible damage. The unit just failed. For a product in this price range and from a company with Renogy’s reputation, this level of reliability and customer support is unacceptable. A power inverter should not fail this quickly under normal conditions, and customers should not have to fight to receive basic warranty support. Very frustrating experience.

Understand how it works and how to integrate it into your syste
Important to know: The ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) defaults to a neutral position when the switch is turned OFF. Why should you care? Because you will have ZERO AC power from Shore Power or Battery Inverter Power. What does that mean? You MUST have enough battery power to energize the Inverter Control Board simply use Shore Power. So even on Shore Power, the Inverter is drawing DC Battery Power. Also, the ouput is limited to 3000watts continuous. But it also limits Shore Power Pass Through to 3000Watts. Lastly, the outlets on the front panel are limited. You can not plug 15 amps into each of the 3 front sockets. You can plug into all three sockets for no more than a total load of 1800watts or 15amps.

This is almost perfect. The issue is it doesn’t pass through power unless it is on, so it has to be running every moment you want power.
