I had a Medline thermometer identical to this one that I bought 17 years ago, for $6.00, I might add. Seriously, it is just now on its last leg, so to speak. I just bought this one, also for $6.00, and I have no doubt it will last just as long. Best thermometer on the market! This new one works great, no problems whatsoever. I couldn't believe the price was still the same and very affordable.Most doctors' offices use those stupid ones they just rake across your forehead. If you sit in their office long enough in the air-conditioning, then your skin is cooled off enough so that it will probably register no temp at all. Take this one with you to the medical office and use it instead. It's much more accurate than what the medical assistants use, and they won't object toyou using your own thermometer. I'm a retired nurse and this one by Medline is the best. You will definitely get your money's worth and it's extremely accurate.

Reading appears correct but no start or stop BEEP sound in F mode

I have cool doctor. Any time I buy home medical equipment that he has in his office I take my purchase to his office & check against his. My temp recorded exactly the same on this thermometer as his. I think that's pretty good recommendation

I've bought other brands that were highly inaccurate and inconsistent. I previously owned this brand and it lasted over 10 years without battery change.

The thermometer either comes with a low battery or a dead battery. Mine arrived and turned on once for a split second then never turned on again. Not worth the hassle!!!

Works as it should.

This is a good thermometer for getting a baseline temperature. It fluctuates between about one degree greater and one degree less than one's true temperature. This served our purposes for gauging temperatures above 100 degrees.
