has anyone actually measured the width of the brim? If its more than 3 inches wide its too wide for me. thanks.

It is just a smidge under 3 inches.

Has anyone used this for sports like tennis? Also curious if the white gets sweat stains and if so, can they be washed out?

Yes you can wear this hat for any kind of sports and it does offer more protection for your face & ears from the sun rather than a sun visor or regular hat. However, it is not adjustable except for a strap that you can tighten under the chin. It is completely washable and if washed promptly after use, it should remove sweat stains as well.

Is the draw string detachable?

No. The draw string is sewn into the crown seam of the hat.

Other than the logo being visible, what is the difference between the Victory 3 and 4 ? ( one is cheaper, trying to decide ) Thanks.

When you look at the description, the 4 has cotton in the fabric. Not sure where it is, but that made me decide to go with the 3. Cotton is not your friend in the heat.
