Actually, the reason why is that in Japan, this figure is retailing for 2500¥ as a promotional price to celebrate the 10th anniversary of SH Figuarts. The import fees to bring it here for distribution makes it $35, which is really fair still.

S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan Goku

I love this figure, especially because of the new head sculpt but it does come with some issues. The figure does feel a little cheaper than the previous Goku releases. Especially when it comes to the quality control. I did get 1 goku with the front hair looking a little messed up and the other goku had a few tiny spots of yellow paint from the hair on the body. Also the legs color is more faded than the rest of the figure.. But I suppose it may have been a rushed project by the manufacturer.
