They are fine for my staffie and two lurcher crosses so they should be fine for your dachshund

Where are these made please?

I do not know where they are made but I would strongly recommend against anyone buying these for their dog. The rawhide centres of these are an extreme choking hazard. Our old dog got one stuck in her throat and it was only moments before she would have died had we not been on hand to remove it from her throat. A dog might also swallow these whole and get an intestinal blockage.

How many of the chews come with this item? I can see it says 18 but that doesn’t seem many for the price?

Yes, there are 18, but they are roughly 10 inches long, so I cut them in two. The hide in the middle is quite hard, so half a chew takes a goodish time for my dog to demolish.
