2 Pack Clock Oil Pen Oiler with 3 1/4" Needle

I bought an old grandfather clock at an antiques store, a Colonial of Zeeland with dark wood and gothic tracery at the top. I didn't know if it worked, but I wasn't worried because I just loved it for the beauty it provided. When I got it home, my husband decided to make it his mission to get it working reliably. I researched various oils and chose this brand. Once received, my husband applied it to the works,(which did run, but only for a short amount of time) and now it runs very well. I highly recommend!

This was absolutely necessary to get a 100 year old clock working again. And a two-pack of the oil will probably last until the next time you have to use it- in 100 years.

These pen oilers are exactly what I needed. I work on antique radios and many of them have dials, controls, and pulleys that have become very stiff or refuse to turn at all. These pens, with their long needles allow me to get into hard to reach areas without having to unnecessarily disassemble the radio. A small squeeze on the pen releases a extremely small drop of oil. This is perfect, as it allows the oil to soak in without having excess oil making a mess. I tried other "squeeze bottle" type oilers but their needles were to big and oil would begin dripping as I tried to position the tip. These pens do not drip at all.

Update 12/14/14. I received a question thru Amazon regarding this item, asking what kind of oil is in the pen. All I know is that it appears to be light weight machine oil perfectly suited to my 28" wall mounted regulator clock, with two weights, one for the movement, and one for the chimes. This clock has had a history of slowing down every year or so without lubrication. After one thorough application with this pen the clock was running as good as new, and 14 months later it still is. Good product.The last clock oil pen I had lasted me over 20 years - and looked similar to these but had a shorter needle. This makes it much easier to keep my wall clock oiled - don't have to take it down off the wall and partially disassemble - due to longer needle that gets to more spots that need oil. Simple but effective.

This is just what my antique and vintage clocks needed. They are now running smoothly and keeping perfect time. Just what I was looking for!

The pen oiler worked fine. It dispensed the right amount of oil to the pivot points on my clock. Unfortunately, that did not get my clock running, so I had to take the clock to a shop and pay more than the clock is probably worth to get it running. Not sure what I missed. It was worth a try and maybe I'll use these oilers to keep it running

Purchased 35 days ago. took them out of their plastic sealed bag to use, and found oil in the bag. Not in the pens but IN THE BAG. One pen is clearly leaking at the joint where the large black plug meets the clear oil-holding vessel. I super glued it, and crossed my fingers.So I go to return them....guess what...yeah you guessed it they give you 30 days......No explanation and no way to get an exception.I don't like to play games with a $10 item, so my only recourse is to give a negative review.
