I recently had to give away my AquaTru because I was moving overseas and couldn't take it. I came to see how much it cost because I'm considering buying it again. Really loved it, worked beautifully and the filters last forever - I had mine for many years and never had to change them (granted I didn't use it every day). Some others are saying it seems cheaply made but I don't agree -- personally I found it very sturdy. Anyway, it's pricey but it's actually cheaper than some of the pitcher filters that are popular because of how long the filters last.

At no point in their marketing, nor during purchase, do AquaTru mention that this product is not suitable for use in hard water areas. Once you’ve already bought the product, you might be lucky enough to spot the following in the manual before you use it: “If the hardness of your water is above 10 gpg (171 mg/L), lime scale will build up rapidly on the membrane inside of the RO membrane cartridge. Scale build up will plug the RO membrane cartridge and make the system ineffective. We do not recommend the AquaTru® to be used with water in excess of 10 gpg (171 mg/L) hardness, unless the water is softened prior to the reverse osmosis system.“ This is likely to be an issue with all countertop systems. Auqatru say there is a work around by descaling the system with citric acid once per month. Having done further research, many plumbed in reverse osmosis filter products have a backwash function to keep the reverse osmosis filter clear. It seems these will be much better suited for hard water areas unless you really need a counter top system. I can't comment on whether this product would be good in soft water areas.

Buy it, you will not regret it. No, it’s not expensive. Do the math.

I honestly wish I had bought the AquaTru Classic sooner. The difference in the taste of the water was noticeable right away, and now I drink a lot more water throughout the day because it simply tastes better. What I love most is how easy it is to use. There was no installation required, just set it on the counter, fill it up, and it’s ready to go. It has become part of my daily routine, and I no longer feel the need to buy bottled water. The machine is a little larger than I expected, but that’s a small trade-off for having clean, great-tasting water available whenever I want it. The maintenance has also been straightforward so far. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a simple way to improve the quality and taste of their drinking water. i’m obsessed!!!! it’s such a game changer - i can’t stand the taste of tap water now that i’m able to drink pure water. the machine looks nice. maybe a bit bulkier than id like, but nothing crazy at all. the water capacity is pretty good, definitely comparable to the amount of water you get in a brita filter but actually filters the water and is easier to use. i love having a water dispenser haha oh and also good to know - the water comes out room temp or whatever temperature that you fill the tap tank with. i prefer room temp, but its good to know. i would absolutely recommend for people who rent their homes because you don’t have to drill any holes into the countertop in order to install it and we should all have access to clean water 🩵

Just received mine today. It was pretty simple to setup. Per the instructions you need to run through four tanks of water through before drinking. It takes 15-30 min to filter each tank so, about 2-4 hours to run through those four tanks. I used a test strip as well to test for nitrates/nitrites afterwards. Tap alone was around 250-500ppm after being filtered it was less than 10 according to the strips. The taste wasn't bad either. Though everyones taste in water is different. There is leakage if your are not careful. The design of the water tanks wasn't the greatest. The tap tank sits fine, but the filtered tank does not. It sits rather loosely until the tank fills to a certain point. If you accidentally bump it the fill tank it will start to leak. I learned to just put my hand on top of it and let it fill to a certain point (usually like 1-2 minutes of standing there) before walking away. Overall it seems like a good product after first use, but just poor design on the filtered tank.

Aqua Tru is better than I ever expected. I can taste the difference how clean this water is I could even see the difference between the clean tank and the one that has the sink water. This is the best water filtration I ever had. I am so fortunate to have found this product. I am very healthy conscious and Aqua Tru is exactly what I needed. I also like the customer service, if I have a question, they answer right away I also want to add the ease of taking care of it. Thank you so much.
