Great family game!
We have been playing the Oregon Trail for a while now. We got this to supplement the game. It is great as a stand alone game or as an add on to Oregon Trail. Just like Oregon Trail, it is difficult to win. So far, we haven't! ; D

Not really an expansion pack.
Took a little while to get the flow of the game down with the instructions but once you do it is pretty fun. It can be played alongside the original game but not very efficiently because the layout for this game takes for a lot of space. Overall its a ton of fun to play a d super challenging. We actually had to adjust one of the rules for our game play so we have a shot at completing the game.

The game has absolutely the worst instructions. The rules don't make sense, especially if you try and blend it with the original game.
