During this trip that they visited rural schools and farms and saw the lack of resources for the children and wanted to give back in some way.The 3 friends discussed the idea of exporting Myanmar food to Europe whilst giving back to where the products are sourced. From there Bayin was born.Bayin believes a business is only great if it is great for all the community. Being a social enterprise is extremely important to all at Bayin and we will continue to source products responsibly whilst giving back.

Finally good quality lahpet with convenience!
As a Burmese Chinese American living in London, I have found it very difficult to find good Burmese food. As such, I cook it myself and also do Burmese supper clubs for around 30 guests several times a year. Lahpet thoke is a famous pickled tea leaf salad but the broad beans are a faff to peel and fry and the lahpet does take quite a bit of work and waiting to ferment properly. This offers an awesome convenient way to satisfy a craving easily. The leaves aren’t very spicy but that’s preferable as you can add chili powder to your salad to make it as spicy as you want. These jars came well packed with prime delivery in less than 12 hours after ordering! My recipe for Lahpet Thoke with these jars would be:Handful of Bayin tea leaves and Nut Mix in a mixing bowl. Add chopped tomatoes, cabbage or lettuce, sliced red onion, coriander, chili powder, toasted dried shrimp, a squeeze of fresh lime juice and a a tsp of fish sauce. Mix well and there you have it! Eat the salad on its own or as a side.I’ve already ordered extra jars for everyone in my family. Looking forward to making lots of lahpet!!!

The real thing
This is traditional Myanmar food. I should know, I'm from Myanmar. My mother and I were very happy with the high quality of the tea and salad mix. It was just like being back in Yangon. I recommend this product.

Excellent product, sustainable enterprise
Excellent quality product. Finally an easy way to get Lahpet in the UK. In terms of cost this is comparable to other importers and the quality is superior.

Superb
After visiting Burma, fell in love with Tea Leaf salad. After searching for recipes for making the tea leaves (not so easy to make), found this ready-made product by chance. The real-deal and have re-ordered many times. Gotta have the nut mix too.
