I purchased this rice cooker after having a much bigger, expensive digital cooker for almost 10 years but the inner pot became so scratched overtime that it needed to be replaced. After shopping around I realize that almost all rice cookers come with a coated, nonstick bowl. I began searching for a more durable and healthy stainless steel bowl and this is what I found. Its much smaller and simpler than my previous model and Id like to compare the two. This cooker with the stainless steel bowl only has two settings, once you plug it in the unit is set to warm, when the bowl is placed inside you can switch on the cook option. It cooks two cups of uncooked rice in max, about 20 min- which is WAY faster than my last rice cooker. The bowls in regards to stuck on food is exactly the same, not less or more, which I thought the steel bowl would be worse but its not at all. The key is to scrape the bowl and fluff the rice once its done cooking, the longer it sits the more it sticks. The lack of bells and whistles is actually pretty great, as the last cooker had 8 settings, (I actually baked a few cakes in it), but its just not necessary at all, all I want is rice. The simplicity makes it very easy to clean; theres just two parts, the lid and the bowl. The digital cooker had an attached lid that had to be wiped clean with a cloth but also had a silicone lip around it and a steam vent that wasn't removable, so to be thorough it had to sit open for hours to allow any hidden moisture to dry up. An open rice cooker was always sitting out on my counter waiting to be put away once it was finally dry. The older cooker also had an excess water collector on the side of the machine that began to leak. But that old cooker did keep rice warm for the entire day. I assume that because of the steam valve on the lid of newer cooker that it will eventually dry out if left on warm all day. Its so small that it can be stored almost anywhere, and theres no plastic, which I love. The only issue is the flimsy and cheap scoop and measuring cup that actually came broken but I would've thrown them out anyway due to the poor quality. Overall I love the new rice cooker with the stainless steel bowl, its easy to clean and does a great job. I wouldn't make more than 2 cups of rice in it but its perfect for what I need.

Delivered today and used it this evening to make dinner. I washed the bowl, lid, etc per the provided instruction booklet with warm, soapy water (always do this unless you want factory grease on your food!). Using the provided "rice" cup (which is not a metric cup, the instructions clearly state this), I measured out my brown rice and water. I threw my raw salmon portions on-top to stream with the rice. Took awhile, but that's typical of brown rice, and it was fluffy and delicious. This is a set it and forget it device (it switches from cook to "warm" once all the water is gone). Didn't make a sound though, when it was finished cooking; so, that's my only complaint with this device (it can finish and you not realize, which is annoying if you're hungry and waiting). Once I get familiar with timing this won't be an issue. Rice did stick to the bottom (typical stainless steel), but I just soaked it after scooping out all the rice, and it was very easy to clean. I've gotten rid of anything non-stick coated in my home; so, I love that this has a stainless steel bowl. Perfect size for dinner. I bought for $44CAD, but I still find that overpriced for such a simple device. Considering it is so simple, hopefully it lasts a long time. Anyway, really happy with my purchase.

Impressed with this rice cooker! Good value for the money. Especially like the stainless steel bowl. Cleans up very easy. No concerns with Teflon type bowls where Teflon coating could peel off overtime.
