Review: Offers great support and is comfortable to sleep in - Due to multiple herniated disks that have caused spinal cord compression in my neck, I started research into cervical collars. Specifically, due to paresthesia in my arms at night, I needed one I could sleep in. After much reading online, the Aspen Vista came in as a top choice, so in my cart it went. I have to say, it has helped a lot! Since I've started sleeping in the collar, I have not been woken up by my arms going numb. It is easy to adjust and is fairly comfortable. I switched to a contour pillow as that allows me to support my head but not put extra pressure on the collar. My only potential complaint would be the comfort of the padding. It is soft and thin enough not to be warming, but I believe I may make a soft cotton or linen liner for the pad going under the chin, just for the sake of comfort. I also like that they sell replacement padding and have ordered a couple of sets for when the original wears out over time. Overall, if you need a Cervical Collar to sleep in, you have my understanding sympathy and my recommendation of this collar.

**Q: Can something like this be worn to correct forward head (bad neck posuture)?**
A: Aspen Vista now has a new collar specifically for Forward Head Carriage, the Aspen Vista MultiPost Therapy CollarUnfortunately, as of August 1 2017 it is not yet on Amazon but it is available elsewhere.For more information go to www.aspenmp.com and search for "therapy collar".I have moderate Forward Head Carriage (but not officially diagnosed) but I have not tried that collar.

**Q: is this collar helpful for neck and shoulder s pain?**
A: Good Morning,The Aspen Vista Collar helps immobilize the neck for patients who may have a fracture of the cervical spine. There is no indication of helping with shoulder pain or issues. A: I'm not sure what you mean by free size, but the collar is adjustable to several different positions.

A: I'd like to make a further clarification to my answer.  The velcro is very secure, so you can leave one side of the collar affixed to the velcro while putting the collar around your neck and affixing the other side of the velcro.  BTW, $40 is a very good price.  I purchased my collar through medical supplier recommended by my doctor and approved by my insurance.  The cost was $100.  I purchased an additional collar on Amazon to send to my sister's house (so I would have one there during my stays).  I paid $80 for the one I purchased on Amazon.  So $40 is a great price.  Good luck.
