this part is a exact part that the dealer had first installed on the vehicle. the dealer uses a trw unit when they sell the cars new. the units that i have received are trw branded for more than half the price of the dealer parts. no issues of operations on the vehicle.

Don't bother with this. The housing broke as I tightened one side. Then, as I was holding it, the plug receptacle broke off with a slight amount of pressure. I thought I was too rough, so I grabbed the original and applied pressure: it held up to more force than this. Find a different brand!!

Update July 2021. This rebuilt motor lasted 12 months. Housing cracked and motor failed. But for $32 , you get what u pay for. Wow. I was skeptical. But this motor solved my problem. The original motor clutch was rusted up and was the root cause of the motor not able to release (unwind) the caliper piston. How long it will last remains to be seen but it’s an exact fit for my VW Passat. The root cause was corrosion on the o -ring groove on the aluminum caliper which allows moisture into the motor Gear/clutch. Make sure to clean the o ring groove replace the o ring if needed and apply a small amount of silicon grease on the o ring when reinstalling the New motor.

OEM are like $200+ and they'll do EXACTLY what OEMs do . Don't waste your money on brand names . The Passat B6 has 2 types with 6 and 12 torx...mine 2006 3.6 4 motion had a 6 one ...so I'm guessing earlier models have the 6 torx one . Worth every penny !

I've replaced both motors in my car with these. They appear to be identical to the OEM motors, even with the same stamping. They've been working fine with no issues for about a year now.

Wasn’t sure it was going to fit my 2016 Tiguan but for that price I took a chance, it fit perfectly. Just make sure between 6or 12 torx

Buy with full confidence! Certainly the cheapest price I could find ( and I looked everywhere) . Just make sure if you're ordering the North American Volkswagen part that it's the 12-TORX type. as in the description. The 6 torx is for European Volkswagen's so will not work otherwise.
