Brighty of the Grand Canyon [DVD]

Brightly of the Grand Canyon was one of my favorite books when I was young, nice video. I’ve shared the book with my grand daughter and we both enjoy the dvd. She stays with me often in Arizona and we love visiting the Grand Canyon.

Was very pleased with the move. We watched it that same day.

I saw this when I was a child and told my kids about it. They thought it sounded so stupid and old fashioned that they made jokes about the donkey Brighty. They did not want me to search for the movie. Many years later (kids are adults in graduate school), I found Brighty for sale on AMazon and bought it. We were all together one New Years and I put on the movie and made them watch it. Much to their surprise they really liked it. Yes it is corny at spots but it is a nice film. Now they want to watch it every year!!! Get it for your kids - it more for young kids. It is a nice story with a good ending with great scenery.

Would have appreciated disclosure of the defect. Delivery was all good.

Great movie! Arrived in two layers of sealed packaging, ready to give my daughter for her birthday. This is a classic movie of the classic Marguerite Henry YA novel.

I am a teacher, and used sections of the film to engage the students in the book. Although the story sequence is different, and several parts have been changed, the students likes comparing it to the book.

Didn't catch that this was VHS, now am going to have to figure out how I can watch it.

I love this movie. My friend worked in the Grand Canyon one summer with the mule ride and she introduced this movie to me about 15 years ago. I don't know how I missed seeing it at the movies in the 1960's. The acting is wonderful and a really good story with a good amount of action. It kept my attention from start to finish. The scenery was beautiful and I loved Brighty!

Eine durchaus spannende Geschichte um einen alten Goldsucher, der wegen eines erfolgreichen Funds von einem Halunken umgebracht wird. Zeuge des Mordes ist ein dem Goldsucher zugelaufener Esel, mit dessen Hilfe ein Jagdführer und sein Neffe den Verbrecher zur Strecke bringen. Spannende Familienunterhaltung, inszeniert von Norman Foster (der mit Cotten bereits "Von Agenten gejagt", 1942 drehte), mit einem gut aufgelegten Joseph Cotten ("Citizen Kane", 1941; "Im Schatten des Zweifel"s, 1943; "Der dritte Mann", 1949; "Wiegenlied für eine Leiche", 1964) und fantastischen Ansichten vom Grand Canyon, wobei das Bild bisweilen etwas körnig ist.

Ueberraschend ein Film im und rundherum vom Grand Canyon, mit einer guten Story, mit vielen Landschaftsbildern vom Grand Canyon, und vom Colorado. Natürlich muss man einmal hin, um den atemberaubente Ausblick mizubekommen.
