This is a great filter with built-in heater. It is easy to service and is well made. It has great filtration capacity, good instructions, and plenty of replacement parts. I has more than enough filtration capacity for my 40 gallon tank. I turned it down to about 50% of capcity, so that the outflow isn't too strong.

Absolutely works as designed. In fact, I've noticed it causes less water evaporation than every other filter I've ever used for my 75 gallon setup. Totally quiet. Easy to install. It is heavy to move around when water is in it but that is the weight of the water. Would definitely purchase in the future for other setups. Worth the cost for everything it provides. Very sturdy.

Love the prefilter on this design. The dock for the in and outflow was a little sticky, but they called that out in the packaging and included a QR code on a video to help with it. The filter is easy to use and service and tightly made. The free bar outflow and inflow and sponge media were never in the cards for me, since I prefer glass lily pipes and other filter media, but it has everything needed to make it work out of the box.

This thing is very nice. Couple things i do wish it did but it works well without: 1) The heater had a light or something showing that it's actively working. 2) To set the input/output hose connection to be stiff or change angle completely. 3) A handle to pull out all the filters easier.

This filter is amazing! I’ve been struggling for months to keep the water in my 60 gal tank clear even when using a different brand canister filter. After four days on this filter the water is crystal clear! It’s not cheap, but it’s well worth the money. With its foam filters and biomedia (included) it will probably have a justifiably reasonable price in the long run since I won’t be replacing filter media each month. The filter is well worth the price for how well it works!

Oase makes great external filters , however this unit could use a redesign, there are two outstanding features that are quite a pain in the rear. 1) The unit is known to not have an airtight seal, this doesn't mean water will leak out but small bits of air can leak into the unit, the air builds up in the filter making it less performant, you can tilt your unit side to side every once in a while to see if any air expels out, it should not once it settles after a filter cleaning. I have contacted support and they gave a very poor response that avoided this design flaw. I ended up purchasing a replacement unit... This is the biggest flaw. 2) the seal for the tubes, the first time you unseal this, it's extremely tough, it's even acknowledged in the instructions (which you need to scan a QR code and watch a video to understand). This only happens the first time you unseal the tube seal, but I don't get why they don't just do this out of the factory and/or redesign this part so this doesn't happen. All in all, it's a great filter but it has poor design and overall Oase feels like it has crappy support, the frustrating and soulless automated messages type from the 90s. Overall, it's still a great filter, it's easy to use once you get the hang of it, but I may try out other brands in the future. PS: For cleaning, watch some online videos, they are much more helpful than the provided instructions, there are some tricky parts like the propeller which should get cleaned every 6 months or so.

Love it. Does a great job. I have a 75 gal. I got the one for 90 gal. Works perfectly. I clean it every two weeks or less. Very quiet, I forget I have it.

Please be aware. If you are a UK buyer this model of Oase Biomaster 2 is made for north American electrical mains voltage. This is lower than UK voltage. After noise and cutting out problems I experienced, I communicated with Oase directly. They informed me of this. Technically the filter is not faulty. The ones made for the UK market need 240v. This model over heats and turns itself off because it cant handle the extra voltage. Go to a UK only suppliers. Not, on Amazon.
