Hello, thanks for your order. Here is the way to take off the case: Step 1: Hold the phone of camera by finger. Step 2: Keep the phone away from the battery case by 15 degree.(Not too big angles, or it'll damage the lightning port) Step 3: After the phone is parallel with battery case, you can take off it. Sort of soft rubbery. Not the two piece "hard" plastic. It takes 80% of the battery to fully charge the phone from 20% to back full, with 1 bar left
