Literally life-changing in 10,000 Sq Ft home with pets
I've dreamt of a good robotic vacuum solution for decades, at this point. Tainted by the early-days experience of robotic vacs, I kept at arms length, watchfully waiting for a solution. At last, this is it. This is the vacuum you want. Over time, we went from a 1,500 sq ft home to 10,000 sq ft. At that point, I pretty much abandoned the idea that a robotic vacuum could work for me, even though I felt I needed it more than ever. Call me paranoid, or maybe cheap, but we are not big fans of having a cleaning person in the home - so, in other words, vacuuming has been essentially a part-time job for me. With excessive pet fur shedding, and a mix of very light and very dark flooring, I've been exhausted vacuuming daily just to have a passably clean house. In practice, this meant doing a quick (ha) vacuum each day and dreadfully doing a "deep" cleaning before we would host guests or have a party or get together. I recently stumbled upon the Roborock and, while skeptical, my first impression was that a $1,400 product with 4.4 stars average HAS to be good, right? After watching YouTube videos and pouring over reviews, I took the plunge, but was still skeptical that it could work well on a larger home (I am leaving this review in part to confirm it does) ... I also assumed the mopping feature was nothing more than a gimmick. Let me tell you - this unit has been completely life changing. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is everything it says it is, and more. After 1 day of usage, I ordered a second S7 Max Ultra unit for our other level. My plan was to see how it did, and then do a super deep clean of the house in hopes that maybe it could at least sorta-maintain it for a week or two at a time. To my shock, *IT* did the super deep clean and I honestly believe the home is cleaner than it has ever been since we've owned it - both in regards to mopping and vacuuming. It sounds hyperbolic, but this is the single best purchase I have made in years. The inner peace that I can derive from knowing that I will always have clean floors is almost comical. Also, it's nothing short of magical to come home to a clean house with fresh vacuum lines and spotless floors and realize YOU didn't do it. I have found myself literally feeling productive when we go out to dinner or do something fun, knowing that our Roborock is busy cleaning back at home. These two units are saving me over 14 hours per week. Time I can spend with my family, catching up on work or - dare I say it - just relaxing. HIGHLIGHTS: - Incredible coverage and obstacle navigation. The spinning brush gets right into the spot where baseboards meet the floor and can achieve fuller coverage around complex shapes and obstacles than I was ever able to. See video example. - Mopping is amazing. We have polished floors that will show every streak, but it passes this test with flying colors. I had minor streaking when using only water, but adding the Roborock brand of cleaner (2 caps full per full tank) seems to have helped with this. - The app is surprisingly great and powerful. TIPS: - Force yourself to make a schedule and schedule recurring cleanings in the app. As outrageously excited as I am about this vacuum, I simultaneously realize that I'm human and somehow, for some stupid reason, if I had to manually click the "clean" button, this thing would not be getting used to its full potential. Currently I have it scheduled to vacuum the entire house daily (both units on both levels) and mop on Saturday mornings. Trust me on this one, my fellow human. Bonus benefit: Setting up a recurring schedule forces good habits amongst household members to keep things off the floor and generally be more tidy. - Speaking of being human... Invigorated by how incredible this machine is, I quickly began resenting the fact that I would still need to manually vacuum our staircase, which is black hardwood with a carpet runner and glaringly shows every single follicle of pet hair that graces it. My solution to this is using a small, battery-operated workshop blower (looks like a cute, mini-leaf blower) on the steps to get the dust, fur and dirt onto the lower level so that Roborock can get it. This has also been nothing short of amazing. I also use this on our dining table, the top of our piano and some other surfaces that you would normally dust. The specific blower I use is the Ryobi 18v Compact Workshop Blower. I still follow up on the stairs with a handheld vac on the carpet once or twice per week. AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: - I hesitate to flag this as an issue because I understand the trade-offs of a larger unit, but a longer lasting battery and more in-unit storage of debris and water would be nice. Our daily vacuuming schedule uses 2x full charges on each unit (upstairs & downstairs). So 4x full battery cycles each day. But what more could I expect? It's a minor quibble and I almost didn't mention it. - Would love to be able to schedule the order of room-based cleanings, which would allow me to make sure that rooms that could be adjacent or above a sleeping toddler are not scheduled around nap-time. As it stands, the sequence of rooms is not customizable when scheduling. - There has been some erroneous obstacle detection as a result of some dark bamboo hardwood floors that have dark spots. It seems to think the dark spots are obstacles. Over time, this has improved a bit by repeatedly "ignoring" the obstacles from within the app. - Would like the option for a plumbed-in dock so that we don't need to refill the mop water or drain it manually. Now I'm just getting greedy, though.

Broke after 6 months, waiting to see if Roborock will fix it or if I'm out $800.
It was awesome, when it worked. I got the refurbished like mint unit for Christmas which I verified with roborock comes with a 6 month warranty. I also got about $100 of supplies for it. So a total of around $800. Then in June of this year, right as the 6 month warranty was expiring, the unit started having all kinds of issues. Including not being able to clean the pad and empty the dust bin. Seems like there is a motor that failed at the base since there is a part there that doesn't move anymore. I reached out to roborock to see if they would still warranty this thing given how it failed just a few days after the warranty expired. I am hoping they will make it right at which point I'll change my review to 5 stars since I really did love the unit. But having spent $800 for it to break 6 months in is really unacceptable. I did notice when I got the unit it had over 200 hours of use on it. It looked brand new. But the app said it was used for 200 hours. That maybe should have been a red flag for me.

Roborock Exceeds Expectations!
I do not write many reviews but I am compelled to with my experience. We are coming from the original iRobot 6xx series robot vacuums: loud, hair gets tangled and requires lots of clean-up, frequent emptying of dust bin, etc. I went with the Roborock based on the Vacuum Wars YouTube channel and I did expect a lot for what I paid but I had no clue it would perform so well. I have had the unit since Christmas and have been running it hard. Let me also say that our house is 100% hardwoods/tile except for some occassional area rugs. I have not tested the vacuum on carpet or anything thick whatsoever but based on the rest of my experience, I would expect nothing but good things. QUIET! The unit is super quiet, if you have ever been turned-off due to the noise, its night and day. We clean during the night and have never heard it, you can run it while you are there and would hardly know its on. HAIR DOES NOT GET TRAPPED! I have 3 females, a golden retriever, and 2 cats. The rubber roller bar is incredible. After many cleanings I hardly have to get hair out, and if I do its on the edges, take out the ends and out slides the hair. No more scissors to cut it out and it just simply doesn't exist on the rollerbar, I don't know how it works so well. VACUUM Suction is superb, hardly anything missing off our dark hardwoods, and I would notice. The dock has a super powerful suction to transfer from the robot to the dust bin and was hardly half full after a month. Again, the lack of needing to dig things out of the vacuuum and the fact the floors look like the cleaners came is just a testament to how well this thing saves time and is worth the investment. MOP This was the area I was most skeptical about, mainly due to design and thinking that there's no way it would actually be able to clean very well. Well, it does. My golden comes in and leaves muddy paw prints everywhere, spills and spots in the kitchen, the dust build-up in the bathroom corners and whatnot, the thing just performs. My mother thought the cleaners had come when she came to dog sit for us. Sometimes I can see maybe a film or streaks but its really a non-issue, and only in the perfect light when I look from an angle. The solution is a 300:1 ratio and mixes with the water so its light on hardwoods and lasts a long time. The clean water bin both is used for mopping and cleaning the mop. You will need to fill it up about once every week or 2 based on how much you mop. For me, its 2x a week (Tuesday and Friday mornings) and lasts a little over a week maybe close to 2 weeks and that is for 1500-1600sf downstairs. The mop pre-wets itself before it starts and cleans itself on a cadence in back at the dock. The place where it cleans from time to time needs to be cleaned with a rag, maybe every few weeks, not a big deal at all. BATTERY LIFE The thing could vacuum or mop my entire house on a single charge I bet. Most of the time after a 1-2 hour run it still has 40-50% battery left. I have yet to have a circumstance when it would go back to charge and resume but have all the confidence that it would. NAVIGATION The unit chooses efficient paths, gets to where its going and comes back, doesn't get lost, ever. There are 2 ways to get to some spots and it is smart to know if its a shorter route by taking one (around our living/dining room) or cutting through our master closet to get back to laundry quicker. If the door is closed, no problem, it just turns around and goes the other way. AVOIDANCE Extremely complex camera and LIDAR system, maps out the house and avoids objects in real-time. Has hardly ever sucked anything up that hung it up, maybe once, it does a great job of avoidance. There are settings for this that will avoid as many bumps and I guess damage to baseboards and such, I think the only thing I would say is I'd like to see it attempt to push through a bedskirt or table cloth before it just turns around and avoids the area entirely, but it does instill tons of confidence that it will make every effort to clean what it can without getting into trouble. I have noticed that when I move our chairs around in the den it will try several passes to find ways to clean where I moved them, but will eventually give up, very smart. APP/TECH I am in software development by trade and the level of customization and configuration is quite frankly mind-blowing. Complex schedules based on pre-set mop/vac settings, quick cleans, slicing rooms any way you want, intensity of mop and vacuum combinations, mop head clean interval, clean with the grain of the hardwoods, there is not a single setting missing from this app. It works, it works well, I am just so happy with it. SUPPORT A Chinese company I never heard of, I was wondering how support would be. Well, on Christmas Day when I couldn't get it to pair to my phone to join my Wi-Fi, I called Customer Support, got someone on the phone, and they resolved my issue within 10 min. So, if that is any indication, I am super excited about the support if I ever were to need it in the future. I purchased the 3 year extended warranty from Amazon for $120, thought it would be worth it to see how long everything lasts. CONCLUSION I can't keep talking about this robot vacuum to friends and family. It works and performs so well I just know something has to go wrong, the thing will die or break or explode. But I pray that it does not and continues to deliver high marks in every area. I do not have any gripes and honestly, with how it makes my house look, and the $150/pop we were spending on a cleaner, this thing will pay for itself in less than a year. For us, it truly does seem to replace a mop and vacuum aside from maybe the quarterly deep cleanings. I cannot recommend the Roborock enough and just had to write the review. If you've never had a robot vacuum/mop before, prepare to be blown away. If you have and had bad experiences or lackluster performance, noise, maintenance, this will be an even bigger shock as to how truly automated everything is. Replacement costs are low in the solution and the bags, maybe a few mop heads you can remove and throw in the washer. Happy cleaning and I hope you have as good of an experience as me!

Works Great
I have two German Shepherds that shed like crazy and this thing is still going strong 6+ months later. Pro: -Automated Mopping/Vacuuming - You don't need to clean the mop pad between every use - If you get the "drain and fill kit" you never have to fill/empty the tanks other than to put some solution concentrate into that dispenser (if you even use it), only downside is that the kit isn't officially sold in the US so if there's an error with it you get to hear some mandarin but once it was hooked up to my water/drain line it worked fine, I think I saw that they showed off a US version at CES this year -You don't have to remove and clean the mop pad every time -Accurately mapped my house in under 10 minutes (single story ranch) -Map can be cut into rooms and you can have rooms with set schedules -Obstacle avoidance/location tracking, compared to the shark IQ I got 3-4 years ago this thing is way better, it can still jam itself rarely with a sock or something else but that's only happened a few times for me, the biggest thing is that I've never had it get lost in my house and had to manually pick it up to get it home. Cons - It doesn't know when the bin on the vacuum is full (supposedly a patent by irobot or something blocks it) and there isn't currently a way to tell it to empty itself every X sq feet/minute or between rooms - You can get around this by scheduling each room to be cleaned individually and having it empty itself at the end, with my two shedding dogs I have it running on a daily basis so the hair doesn't buildup to the point that it'll fill itself up halfway through a room. - App - There isn't fine control of notifications, seems like you either get notified for every action it takes like starting to clean, washing the mop pad, etc including errors or none at all, I'd much prefer it if it categorized them so I could tell android to silence the ones I didn't care about, the same applies to the voice on it, the volume it announced "Going to clean the mop" is the same volume that controls it screaming for help if the brush gets jammed - If you schedule one room to be cleaned at 9:30 and another to be cleaned at 10 the job at 10 will cancel itself if the 9:30 one didn't finish in time - The only cleaning solution they have has tea tree oil in it which can make pets sick, while you could try the cleaning solution of a competitor that would likely void your warranty or damage internal components and you'd need to figure out the right mix ratio for the unit. It cleans the floors pretty good without cleaner so I'm fine going without. Overall the unit itself is great and my main complaints should be easily fixed with some updates to the app. It's probably worth noting that my entire house has LVP and there's only one area rug so I'm not sure how well it would would when it came to carpet. This thing works great but going in you should know it's not going to be a miracle worker, if you do a good deep clean this thing can help keep it in that condition for a decent amount of time but if you have a pet that tracks in a ton of mud you'll likely have to clean up majority of it yourself if you want it done in a timely manner.

Impressive Improvement over our Old Roomba
As many of you, watched many product reviews and testing videos before deciding to purchase this (and Amazon helped with a $200 off coupon) Had immediate issues getting the thing to connect to our WIFI and smart phone (iPhone) but I found the tech support number in the booklet and called at 11 pm at night and someone helped! (If your wifi is weaker, just carry the device over next to your router and make sure your "cellular" is turned OFF on the smart phone....connected and updated on the first attempt! Has to be a 2.4 wifi, 2.4G won't work.) Pros: -Really does a good job mopping the hardwood floors and has settings from light to even doing a double mop! -Much quieter than the old Roomba 694 unless you put the vacuum on a higher power. -Does not slam into things like the Roomba did and we put felt pads all around the Roomba because of this. -We love the "spot clean" feature....just carry it over to the mess and hit the button and it'll vacuum and mop around a 5-foot area and then return itself to the base. -Has never gotten lost or stuck, radar works great and we've not, yet, seen the battery die out while working...even when doing a deep, double-mop in our large master bedroom. -Love how it self-cleans the mop and then dries it...haven't worried about mold or mildew growing on it. -We have three dogs and haven't had to clean out stuck hair from around the wheels or spinners or tray. -If stuff happens, very easy to cancel and return it the dock, just one button on the app on the phone. -It will build a map of your areas and update every time it does a job...very cool! And you can have other floors mapped. (I think the limit is 4.) Cons: -There is a learning curve to this thing...expect to spend time on the App learning how to do things. (It took me a while just to figure out how to save a vacuum-only job.) Also watch videos on YouTube to learn tricks...the owners' manual is very basic. -None of the tanks (dirty water, clean water, vacuum bag) will let you know when they need to be serviced so you just have keep an eye on them. -The unit vacuum is quite loud when it sucks out the stuff from the robot but it does a really good job of it...hardly anything left in the bin. -A tad annoying there's no "Fill" line on the fresh water bin so unsure just how much to put in there. Overall glad we got this thing....also purchased the 3-year extended warranty.

No regrets
I've been putting this off for years. It's overwhelming trying to weigh features with price with reputation and customer satisfaction So, Instead of telling you about the features, let me tell you why I chose The Roborock S7 Max Ultra. I have a split-level home with carpet in every room except the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry area, 2 dogs, I do long arm quilting aka thread everywhere and I have long hair. My biggest issue was dealing with the pet hair. I vacuum a lot and I don't really mind it, but I wanted something to help out in between regular vacuuming. So after months of research, weighing pros and cons I kept coming back to the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and this one. To be perfectly honest there wasn't a huge enough difference between the two and the only drawback was the price. Let's face it, I don't care who you are it's a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner. With that being said. I'm loving it. It does a really good job on all my floors. I've noticed a difference already of less dust, less pet hair and my house looks so nice and clean. It's nice to have a vacuum small enough to get into spaces like under my bed which is a chore . The obstacle avoidance has been pretty good for me. I've only had one incident where it got a cord.. To test out how well it did on my carpet after it vacuumed I ran my regular upright over where it had cleaned and I got very little left behind which is common when testing vacuum against vacuum. My hard surfaced floors are clean, you control the moisture setting for the mop, but even with just plain water your floors dry very quickly. I was worried about how well this would actually dry the mop. it doesn't kind of dry it, it dries it. . I could go on and on about this vacuum. I'm not regretting buying this model and brand at all. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well it does. I didn't think that robovacs really had enough suction to really clean a carpet. This one proved me wrong. Pros: It vacuums carpet very well, gets into hard to reach areas like under kitchen chairs, table, band beds, great app, you control how much water, suction power, auto dirt bin empty, auto mop cleaning and drying, auto mop water refill, auto mop lift on carpet. pretty quiet while running, multi-level floor mapping, able to schedule run times, charging times and even program it to clean in the direction of your hardwood floor grain. Cons; Not a bagless empty bin, you have to buy bags and the price, but it is a premium robovac, even though price is a huge factor. Other things like brush, filter replacement are normal things with most all robovacs, so I'm not listing them as cons.

Great but…
The price of this product is the only reason this review is as critical as it is. The good: -cleans very well better than the S7 I had before. -the docking station is very convenient to have and has fairly decent tank sizes for the clean/dirty water. -mapping is as good as it was on the previous model The bad: -the docking station does not have indicators to tell you how much dirty/clean water is in the tank it only tells you when they’re completely empty which is inconvenient if you’ve left the house and the vacuum is trying to finish a large job and can’t wash the mop or refill its water tank. -while I understand the docking station washes/dries the mop it would be nice to be able to easily replace the mop to run it through an actual washing machine as water alone can’t clean every possible stain it gets. The current way to do it is to flip the entire robot over and remove the mop which is much more difficult to do than the previous version which just has two very easy tabs to take off the pad the mop sits on to replace it. This one doesn’t have that. - the mapping feature, while good, isn’t improved over the previous version and still crashes into things that have skinny legs. We have a candle stand which it just destroys and moves about the whole place so I have to move them out of the way now while it cleans. I didn’t mind before but for $1200+ dollars I expect something like this to have a better understanding of obstacles and stay away from them without crashing into them. Additionally, any rug that doesn’t have strong grips underneath them gets dragged by the vacuum which honestly shouldn’t be an issue as they claim it can cover carpet/rugs to a certain height, the rug this drags is shorter than that. For other rugs it brings up the corners on them and while the mop does go up for carpets/rugs it doesn’t bring them up nearly enough for it to not drag dirt across them. Compare this this to Roomba’s combination mop/vacuum which completely lifts the mop over the vacuum so it doesn’t drag dirt across rugs/carpets. -lastly, it has issues with its sensors/motors because ANY time it goes across a soft carpet it thinks it’s stuck and goes crazy. I resume it and it’s perfectly back to normal. What’s worse than that is it goes over certain rugs and then goes back down onto the hardwood floors and squeezes itself underneath couches and gets itself stuck so you have to go, pick it up and resume it only for it do it again. Our rugs are a few inches away from a couch so there’s a 6 inch gap between them where there’s hardwood so when it comes off the rug it jams itself underneath the couch. It also thinks it’s near a cliff when it goes over the base of a matte black chair and won’t move till you reset its position. That means it doesn’t have distance sensors for cliff detection it just uses light which is useless if you have dark, matte flooring or bases for furniture it might go over. TL;DR: overall, this is a good vacuum cleaner and I recommend this brand to everyone I come across, it makes life just a tad bit easier but I don’t think it’s worth anywhere close to its price tag, the cheaper ones function IDENTICALLY and they all have the same issues. For $6-700 this is great but I don’t think it’s worth it for a penny over that. If I could go back in time I genuinely don’t believe I’d get this I’d just get another one of their cheaper ones without the dock because the vacuum itself hasn’t improved much over the older one and the dock doesn’t add $600 to its value. In short - get the cheaper one.

Premium-priced product, disappointing reliability and extremely poor warranty support
I really wanted to like the Saros Z70, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. The robotic arm is one of the main reasons to buy the Z70, yet mine developed a Robotic Arm Hatch Fault despite the machine being relatively new and the arm having seen very limited use. I had only recently started making more regular use of the robotic-arm feature before it failed. What has made the situation substantially worse is Roborock’s warranty service. I followed their instructions and shipped the robot to their repair center on July 30. UPS delivered it on August 4, and Roborock confirmed on August 5 that it was received and “under repair.” Since then, I have been unable to obtain any meaningful information about the repair. No diagnosis. No repair timeline. No estimated completion date. No estimated return date. I called customer service and explained that we have a large home and rely heavily on the robot for routine cleaning. The representative could not provide any meaningful status and told me the matter would be escalated to their after-sales/technical team with a response within 24 hours. The eventual “update” I received on August 12 simply said that the robot was still under repair and asked me to “wait patiently.” That is essentially identical to what I had already been told a week earlier. For a premium-priced flagship product, I expected both better hardware reliability and substantially better warranty support. Mechanical features can fail, that happens, but a good manufacturer should make the warranty process predictable and transparent when they do. At this point, I have an expensive robot sitting at a repair facility with no diagnosis and no idea when I will get it back. I have asked Roborock to replace the defective unit or provide a refund rather than leaving the repair open-ended. I will update this review if Roborock ultimately resolves the situation appropriately.
