Hawking & Falconry for Beginners: An Introductory Guide to Falconry & Training Your First Bird

Probably one of the best falconry/hawk beginners books you can buy. If you are new to falconry and have or are getting a Harris Hawk, this is the book for you.

Informative and authoritative read if your serious about taking up the sport of hawking and falconry. Great advice on learning the basics through to advance techniques. My recommendation is to disregard going for day courses at the various centres that will set you back £500 to £1,000. Best to align yourself with a local mentor and train on one of their birds before you decide the commitment of owning a bird of your own. Use this well written book in conjunction with your mentor and you are unlikely to go wrong. Happy hawking.

This book is perfect for someone who has tried falonry/hawking and wants to know more. It goes through the whole process of training a bird, with many useful tips and anecdotes along the way. If you are serious about the sport and want to practice it to the highest possible standard (as you should), then this is a great place to start.
