Great value, video quality is decent and great for the price

My childhood dreams have finally become a reality! I always wanted a "spy pen" so that I could leave it and record an evil villain's master plan, or record someone breaking into a museum for their next heist. Well, I didn't grow up to be a spy, but this pen helped me get a taste of that life by recording key events in my office anytime I want to remember something or jot down a note. It records quality video and sound. The battery life is great. I figured I would maybe get a couple of minutes out of it, but it has a good battery and really good storage capacity, so that you can record for quite a while. Having the motion detection feature to record when something happens is super handy. Its security is something I found vital when deciding on which pen to buy. Who wants to buy a pen if anyone can just pick it up and view the recordings on it? This product makes sure that your recordings stay YOUR recordings! Overall, a great buy, and a really cool gadget that I'm happy I bought.

I barely had the pen for a month, and it worked great the first time I used it. After the first time using it, it stopped working. I tried to find the reset button and there is not one. I tried to find information online to help and there is nothing out there to help with the pen I received. The LED lights stopped working, the SD card would not store videos longer than 10 seconds or pictures. Not worth the money at all! Very disappointed!

Charged it right off. Then tested it and can't complain about the video or the sound quality. My card was formatted and was ready to go. We'll see how long it lasts. Note: you use the pen by turning the bottom tip. The same program I use for my binoculars and other surveillance EQ worked perfect. I deleted the test files and it's ready for use. I highly recommend you wear a shirt that has a hole for a pen in the pocket. I wear shirts with pearl snaps and it has stayed in and secured with no issue. All I have to do is turn and face what I'm videoing and give the top button an indiscreet tap. there's a thin layer of clear plastic covering the lens when you get it. take that off. I actually had usable video quality before I removed it. It was even better once removed. It worked well both inside with medium lighting and outside in sunlight. Update- 1st real word test and it performed spectacularly. It automatically did 5 minute clips for 55 minutes when I turned it off. They were perfect. Much better than old tech that I used to use in the field. The video was crystal clear and the sound was great. My subjects were generally 3-5 feet away but even things at a distance were clear and distinctive. I'm tickled with it. They never knew a recording was happening which was what I needed for the situation.
