I started taking Thorne 5-MTHF after genetic testing revealed I have MTHFR mutations that affect my body's ability to process regular folic acid. My functional medicine doctor specifically recommended this Thorne product for its superior quality and bioavailable form of folate, and I've been consistently impressed with both the product quality and the health improvements I've experienced. What sets this supplement apart is the methylated form of folate, which bypasses the genetic conversion issues that affect many people. Within a few weeks of starting this supplement, I noticed improvements in my energy levels and overall sense of well-being that I hadn't experienced with regular B-vitamin complexes. My follow-up lab work showed significant improvement in my homocysteine levels, which was exactly what my doctor was hoping to achieve. The quality control and purity that Thorne is known for is evident in this product. The capsules are clean with no unnecessary fillers or artificial ingredients, and I've experienced no digestive upset or side effects. The dosing is appropriate and easy to incorporate into my daily supplement routine. The cardiovascular and neurological support benefits align perfectly with what my healthcare provider explained about methylfolate's role in cellular function. I feel confident knowing this is supporting my body's methylation processes that are crucial for so many aspects of health. The packaging protects the supplements well, and the expiration dates are always well into the future, indicating proper storage and handling. Highly recommend for anyone needing bioavailable folate, especially those with MTHFR mutations - excellent quality from a trusted brand that healthcare providers consistently recommend.
