Very salty so one has to use in smaller amounts. **Q: Does this contain MSG?** A: No you have to add your own because msg is delicious **Q: is it sweet?** A: I find it not as sweet as sweet white miso ( which I eat straight out of the container), this is more of an umami flavor.
